Unequal gaps between tires & wheel arches

Hi guys,

I have a question regarding the gap between the front tires & the wheel arches. The wheel on the right side seems to be a little further back than it's supposed to be. The left side wheel seems to be perfectly centred, i.e, it has the same gap in front & behind it.

So the problem is that sometimes when turning to the right, the right side tire will scrape against the rubber shield. Turning to the left there are no issues. Does anyone have an idea why this is what exactly i have to do to get it fixed.

i would take such a car to alignment folks.
if they cant fix, atleast they can pin point the exact part bent/broken etc, after which car can be taken to suspension repair guys.

I got alignment done the other day but i hadn't noticed this difference at that time. I was curious as to why only the right wheel was hitting the shield & that's when i noticed the unequal gaps.

Do you know of any good & reliable suspension repair shops in islamabad?

My guess is, the frame underneath (chakka) is misaligned. Don't worry, the alignment guys can unscrew a couple of nuts and fix it. I think it is done by some alignment guy as well in the first place - they do it when they do the alignment, and the owner keeps insisting ''motorway pe garee khabbay paasay jaaati hai''.

Yeah you're right the left wheel isn't dead center either but it's not as bad as the right wheel. I hope you're right & it's as easy as that, i'll take it to an alignment shop tomorrow.

I noticed that in the first place aswell!
I think you go to the allignment centre from where you get the allignment done they should be of some assistance,
@experts out there I would like to know the reason behind this problem,
is it because the car has hit in some ditch or bump at some speed or are there some other reasons?

I don't think it's due to hitting the car in ditches or bumps. That would mess up the suspension bushes, shocks etc but probably not lead to the wheel losing it's alignment between the wheel arches. Plus i'm the only person that drives this car & i drive it really carefully, since it's on coilovers it's already pretty stiff so you have to go super slow on bumpy roads.

Then again, i could be wrong, if i knew the exact problem i wouldn't be asking here!

Here is what I think it is. Excuse my 5th grade drawing, but you'll get the idea what I'm trying to say. I've exaggerated the angle a bit more on purpose for you to understand it rightaway. In actual case, the degree of deviation would be far lesser.

Well i went to an alignment shop & the guy there said it's quite likely the 'Chimta' (lower control arm) that's been a little bent. So i'm going to have to get it replaced with a kabli one next time i'm in peshawar to see if that fixes things.
