Unexpected drop in fuel average of my Toyota Corolla altis 1.6 after using shell protect 0w30 previously was using taglon 5w30 .The average before oil change was 11.5_12 and now it is 7_8 please can any one suggest what could be the reason The car odo is 19000 I think so that I have poured wrong grade oil plz guide me
seems less likely to have been caused by the shift in oil viscosity, unless you have poured in a counterfeit product
I don't think that drop in avg is due to engine oil weight, as it's same, w30, it's something else
If there is not any other cause, then you are probably using counterfeit oil which is maybe 20w-50 or even worse then that.
this is what i suspect too!
Which brand?
There are counterfeit products in market.
As 0w-30 is to increase mileage. Drive for 1000km and if it doesn't improve then change from reputable shop
where did you purchased oil from ? it seems that you have been scammed.
Bhai I have purchased oil from punj sarki shell which is company operated and filter from.mehran autos Saddar I donot think so that they are dealing in fake products
Check the oil level, maybe they didn't properly drain the old oil before putting the new one in, causing it to overfill. It happened once with my dad's city, though the drop in fuel average was only about 0.5, so there could be some other issue.
bro twice they had like 10 to 15 percent of water in their Diesel when i filled my previous Corolla. Dont trust them at all over anything, may it be fuel or oil
Bhai which shell pump is better or lubricants store
Bhai shell protect ow30 is only available on shell pumps thats why i though it was better option but till now i think so was not
You can buy directly from shell daraz mall store
Bhai that product is not available on daraz
Looks like fuel issue. Refill tank from other pump and drive and recheck again. No issue with this grade oil.
Reset meter and drive 40km to see average.
same thing happened with me with my city
but still i am missing o w 20 in my car
Upon further google searches, I have discovered that shell protect 0w30 is not available in Pakistan (at least not on their .pk website). The only 0w30 variant is the Shell Helix Ultra and Helix Ultra ect. So yes, the oil could be an issue.
