It was in loss post 2005 under khazanah aswell which is a Malaysian govt wealth fund and was sold to drb hicom because of the loss, it did indeed have "few 4 figure years" in whole Europe while competitors were managing 6 figures but failed to adjust in modern car market post 2005.

The Faw v2 has been here since more then 5 years now. If I'm not wrong. Suzuki came up with 2 new cars in between WagonR and Cultus.

V2 even priced higher then WagonR VXL last month. Yes it is selling even delivery period has gone to upto 30 days. But it still isnt ringing any bells and whistles. It has quality issues but it is rigid where it shud be. But since we want shashka more so we over look that.

I my self skipped V2 and got a WagonR just because i didnt find my uncles v2 good enough.

United needs to bring in quality. If it's another cheap china ka khilona no we dont want it and we dont welcome it.

As far as i see Uniteds USP is suzuki mehrans engine in this car. Body parts etc will still cost slightly higher.

If u ever visit china you hardly see faw or any other ulti seedi cars that come to Pakistan mostly they use VWs, and all other German brands and less Japanese brands (because of their issues with Japan)
they dont even use cheap chinese phones. You see most people having iPhones and Samsung's. ( made in china obviously) but good quality.

That's only true for "select few" big urban centres, here are July sale figures by brands in China. Vw is indeed the bestseller but Japanese are on top as well as Chinese brands themselves

same conversation i had with a Honda guy.

as i asked him when city will be going to change to new model, he replied sir we have soo much orders for it so how could we change. its a cash cow for us. as people are accepting it, we are making same model further. hence no need for change.

We have no options - other wise people would boycott older shapes like Mehran, Bolan and City for almost 10 years.

The WagonR is a sensible choice of car for inner city driving on asian roads. The main reason Chevy exited the asian market is because they began marketing SAIL cars with the bowtie and that is sacrilege, Even in india buyers shunned the cheaper Chevy SAIL cars for the BEAT and Cruze, You can buy a Sail hatch for under 50,000 bucks in Madras nowadays. Sadly Chinese cars quality is not up to snuff and their designs are extreme too,Chevy still makes cars in india for the US market though.Sad.

True that. The Toyota rush has disappointed yet again. Although being Imported it doesnt deserves being priced over a Corolla or near to the price that of Suzuki Vitara.

Anyways let's see what does 8th September brings for us.

Seen some spy shots of Japanese people inspecting a suzuki cultus/celerio at a toyota dealership probably an indonesia product for a mini van or a small hatchback is on toyota pakistans books too.

I guess that's what the Toyota/Suzuki agreement to share some of their cars in various markets came to be.The Rush is ridiculously overpriced and not worth the asking money,I would buy an Altis instead and take a vacation with the remaining money.. I got this pamphlet from Toyota in my mailbox with what i think is a decent offer on the Yaris in my market.Pity i will be moving next year else i would have driven a Yaris home,Add approx,70-80 thousand for tax/reg,/insurance. What is the tax component on the Bravoand how will it affect the price?

Insurance is 2.5-3% of invoice price depending product and company.

Their is a flat GST included in the selling price. Other then that 10k withholding tax and around 15k registration.

In sindh theirs a yearly rs 1000 token tax while Punjab has a life time tax for cars upto 1000cc.

my whole point of argument was that our people want to stay in the past where we used to drive cars with ugly shaped lights and literally naked sort of exterior quality.,, the other guy went on and took the discussion to places where we lost track of, our attitude towards accepting new and better is always the same
