Yes true, just that I need a trunk and they are expected to launch Yaris sedan not hatchback so trunk space shouldn't be a problem. One way or the other it is going to be much better than City anyway. Only question remain what price they are going to offer Yaris at. Closer to 2 million , lower than 2.5 will make it a success. More than 2.5 or closer to current GLI will be very disappointing price.

Nope no one knows the exact round about date, mostly are speculating a March launch based on the inventory clearance attempts of IMC specially XLI variants. There are reports that IMC sales during January were better than last few months. I guess they will try to make sure all XLI/GLI are sold before pushing Yaris in market.

Bhae log let Corolla Altis or Grande come in Pakistan than we can say something. Whenever it is turn to launch any variant in Pakistan manufacturer cuts car trims and lot of features. Lets see what happens.. By the way Toyota in including Suzuki and Honda is looting..

Using the new platform for multiple new vehicles instead of just the corolla. The possible contendors are diverse. Namely, RAV4, New Yaris, CHR, Raize, Highlander, prius, Camry all sit on some variation of the TNGA platform

Pakwheels Blog claims that IMC is going to launch a new 1.8 Hybrid SUV in Pakistan. It will supposedly launch in Pakistan around the same time as its global launch. Two cars fit the bill, RAV4 and CHR. But, the RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime have 2.5L engines and although CHR Hybrid has a 1.8 engine it is an existing product contrary to what the article claims i.e. a new global model. So things don't really add up.
It could also be the new Prius SUV that has been rumored for quite some time but that's less likely.

Regardless of what model it is, saying that it will challenge sportage when it will probably come at the 1 Crore price point(being a CBU initially) is wishful thinking at best. I'd take this insider's "info" with a grain of salt.

That is another possibility but unfortunately it's launch has been postponed since Geneva Motor show was cancelled on account of the Coronavirus.
But you're right, it is looking like the most obvious contender here.

The yaris cross is an older, non-hybrid product, basically just a jacked up yaris hatch.

Rav4 is the direct rival of Sportage / Tucson in Toyota portfolio. Does not make sense for Toyota to develop another vehicle for the same segment as RAV4 is already a best selling vehicle. Sportage, Tucson and Rav4 all comes in same category of small small SUV lineup.

This thing whatever is would be a smaller vehicle and would not compete Tucson / Sportage. It would be more of to compete with VW TROC size vehicle which is smaller than Tiguan.

The blogger making an assumption that this new. Vehicle will challenge Sportage/ Tucson but it seems his own opinion. Toyota global itself might not be positioning it against Sportage or Tucson.

Also BTW, the 1.8L Prius as CBU cost around 8.5 Million, this new small crossover Hybrid with 1.8 will not be cheap either and will cost more obviously above the Prius pricing internationally and I dont see it producing locally with our market size and establishing an entire new assembly line for hybrid production with current economical situation.

So, as CBU even with same pricing of Prius, it will cost many millions above Sportage and Tucson.

Read few articles and the new small crossover planned for Geneva reveal is actually will sit below CHR and will share underpinning with the new Yaris.. So, it's no way on the same category as far as Tucson and Sportage. There is no other vehicle in pipeline for reveal from Toyota which would be of same size as Sportage and Tucson.

Same price bracket and more or less the same specs. Indus should bring the above Rav4 which is a hit internationally and definitely would do good here. Case in point is fortuner that was selling like hot cakes before the absurd price hike.Any other car less than this would be a mistake similar to the stupid launch of Rush and the prior Avanza.

Correct. The upcoming Yaris based hybrid SUV will slot below the CHR, will probably be in the class of Nissan Juke or Kia stonic.
But i see some problems with that particular B suv being launched here,
1. It is aimed towards the European market so will not be cheap. Toyota Raize is more suitable for Pak.
2. It will probably share its powertrain with Yaris hybrid, which is 1.5 hybrid not 1.8 as the "insider" suggests.
So i think the information provided is not completely accurate and some details have been wrongly stated.

Rav 4 Hybrid will cost as much as Camry Hybrid and that means 16 Million that too after subsidy for Hybrid. No case for Rav4 in any form as far as CBU and RAV4 is assembled in limited number of factories for global supply and I don't see it coming as CKD
