Yaris is cheaper in price...and is a different segment car. Hsa is not there but automatic cars are easier to drive uphill for most of the people. I think even international e170 facelift has no hsa. Shifters are so usefull overall. Yaris has just ruined city... nothing else...even old glis eilt keep theort value...due to space thingy. Yaris will be real hit..for sure

Toyota starting working on Yaris sedan in 2017 and it took them 3 years and even when the economy and car sales were much better. I am sure they started working on 12th gen but with financial meltdown , any new investment does not go with the same speed. Also I am sure the car assemblers would be doing intentional delays to show Government that how FED type things have hit the market and slowdown in addition to the exchange rate, in other words to get back incentive they will show the downgrade trend and with limited investment towards new products.

TNGA is all new stuff and not a simple plug n play so, it do need upgrades to plant and obviously need lot of money.

There is no Grande without sunroof. It is actually called Corolla 1.8.
Performance wise there is no comparison between both, 1.8 takes the lead here.
Extras in Yaris 1.5:
Push Start
Smart Entry
Hill Assist
Automatic Climate Control

Extras in Corolla 1.8:
Seat height adjustment
Cruise Control
More space

Price difference is also a lot between both.

Keep in mind that the resale of 1.8 non Grande is not good

According to the past trend when economy was stable.
Corolla 11th generation was spotted in the end of March 2014 and launch took place on 20th July 2014.
I hope they will be able to launch at year end or next year start

Surely, hats off to indus.
It is quite astonishing for me that they are all set to launch 12th generation corolla under such scenarios, but price would be around 45lacs for highest trim. If that should be the case then they should launch it with 2.0L and d-cvt. People would prefer sportage over this in this price. Although both are humongously different from each other, but keeping in mind the price point: sportage is value for money.
