Upgraded pictures...... part 1

Okay people have upgraded....

Old setup:

4 Alpine SPS 600 speakers
Solid audio 4 channel amp.
Pioneer 4050ub pre
kenwood basic sub

New Setup:

Boston components S60 in the front
Two alpine sps 600s in the back
Focal 2.75 powering the BA comps
Pioneer 8450bt pre
Still have the old solid audio and the kenwood sub

Next proposed upgrade :

Want to buy either a kicker L7 sub or Pioneer Premier or champion series 12 inch sub. With power output between 300 to 400 watts. ( Dont know which is better)

Debating on whether or not to change the solid audio 4 channel amp to a sound stream 800 or 900 reference series or just go straight out for a focal 4 channel.

Or first to keep the solid audio and just change the sub and buy a mono amp for it and later on in life buy the four channel amp since at the moment all it is doing is powering my rear speakers and the sub.

Let me know your thoughts on the merchandise and the next proposed upgrades gurus and people. Thanks

Hi bro congrats on upgrade. I suggest you get rid of solid audio amp and buy a mono amp for the sub. Either Run the rear speakers from HU or just disconnect them and u shud be good to go. Front stage and sub are sufficient to produce a good sound. U can buy focal solid 1 for the sub.

Thanks mughal jee for the kind remarks. Another guru told me roughly the same as this. I am also leaning towards buying the mono amp and a sub . Im just trying to decide what sub would be good . Im more geared at the moment towards living in an SPL rather than A SQ world within limits. I feel the bostons produce a bit too much clarity as it is in the front stage and wishing I had maybe gotten the alpine comps instead but the shop did not have them at that time. I dont know which comps would have been better for me the SPS c600S OR the current bostons that I have got.

I listen to sasha and digweed alot some old skool snoop and dre and tonnes of jazz. I know quite an eclectic mix but thats me.

Any other amp besides focal solid 1? I am looking for a good high end amp that can power and match up to a high rms powered sub.

What's ur budget for sub and mono amp ??? A good high end mono u can get anywhere between 35 and 50k. U plan one sub or two ? Pioneer PRS1200SPL is very good mono amp if u really wana bang a pair of subs. For a single spl sub u can go for pioneer TS-W3002D4.

Mughaljee my budget for sub and amplifier is 60 k. I only want to buy one sub but want to make sure it can produce some deep banging bass. The pioneer amp that you mentioned the second one does it have more features than the focal solid one. And the pioneer sub the 300 is it capable pg some good bass. In 60 will these two items including sealed enclosure be covered.

The sub and amp i mentioned will really bang ur car.....should fit in ur budget. For further options and suggestions u can contact the spl guys on this forum namely splfanatic, blacklist and jz. The sub review u can get from shehyar.

Or will that spoil the overall sound? Or should I just take it out and power the rear through the hu. I doubt the rear will be loud though then?
