UPS in 2020

For people with occasional power failures, not daily, is a UPS still the best choice in 2020? Eg. In my case where there is a max requirement of about 800-1,000 watts (2-3 fans, a few LED bulbs and no AC or other appliances), I think solar investment doesn’t make much sense and generator is too much of a hassle to run and maintain. Any different opinions than this?
Also can someone point me to a UPS buying guide which is still relevant. What brands and types are good in the market right now with the right cost vs benefit balance for the above rather simple requirement.

Solar setup is better if you hav ur own big roof....the panels can charge the batteries in day...supposing power outages 3 hrs a day...the day outage cud be supported by solar panels direct and nights by the batteries.......but the investment for this is high and need to be done in steps ..... my cousin has now a full roof solar setup, but aftrr 5yrs of slow progress as per available funds....costs around few lakhs total

UPS on other hand is instant power source with minimal maintenance as compared to Generators.
We also have a similar req of 1000watts and using a small inverter with battery AGS GX 200F

I m not sure of the inverter on we hav coz the name sticker is gone....however u can get one of known reliable brand between 10-15k .... and same range for Battery

If properly checked and topped up water of battery it can last 3/4 yrs easily....one time our battery lasted 1 yr cause we didnt pay attention to it being overcharged repeatedly.

Any well know brand should do

But first visit multiple shops and get an idea of the market then make a decision

Oh sorry I thought I did. I have seen Homage, Inverex and Hyundai in the market. Most also mention solar charging and inverter. What exactly would inverter mean? And will solar charging option create an issue?

It should not be an issue....but better to get a UPS for only power supply and battery charge....they will try to sell u shashkaas....stick with what u need
