Asalam o Alaikum,
History of Car:
1st hand model 2005 with around 60000 kms on the odo. throttle body cleaned by hyundai at 25000km and then again at 55000 kms. last oil, filter and plug change was at 58000 kms.
Problem:
The car has an idle issue mainly on petrol. As soon as i lift my foot of the accelerator when the car is idling it shuts down. if i keep my foot on the accelerator it doesn't but despite my foot being on the pedal the rpm still fluctuates a bit however the car doesn't shut itself down. Before this problem occurred it was having a minutely unstable rpm with an issue that when the a/c was switched on the car didn't gain enough revs to keep it own and it would switch on and off with a tick sound many times. Also many times when teh car is moving and i am revving the engine a bit it would switch off and then switch on again as the revs came a bit down.
On cng the car is pretty much smooth and a slightly turbulent idle is observed but the car never shuts down.
Diagnosis by local mechanics:
got the car scanned through hyundai and no error codes were found.
got it checked by two mechanics and they said that the IACV is gone and both the idle and a/c issues are due to it. moreover i also observed that at times the iacv motor produces a whine that is pretty audible.
Now the problem is that i want your opinions that whether it is a iacv issue or throttle body can be the culprit. as on many internet forums i have read that the symptoms of both are almost similar. i am willing to change either but not by hit and trial as i mentioned that both the things are still stock.
I would really appreciate feedback and diagnosis with the limited info provided by me.
Xulfiqar and other members with an insight and experience with such issues your response is required as tomorrow is a holiday and i am thinking to get the car fixed.
