Urgent SPLIT AC(PEL),hELP

a desperate help needed,,if some one is using PEL Split(might be of better help),as i couldnt get its manual from internet,
its a 1ton though was working fine till sunday eve,,,

since last nite,once switched on compressor starts for few minutes ,cools fine and then shuts in approx 10minutes.after which it rarely starts ,i havent been soo technical but apart from auto lite(which obviously flashes always as its on auto),,operational timer lite is on as well,,now i have no clue of it flashed before when ac was ON or something new,,as had something to do with this problem

any replies,pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Dear, during the 10 min of compressor operation is the thrown air colder (-5 to 10 C) then the room air?
If yes try to make sure the input voltage at outdoor unit is >200 Volts.(both off and on compressor) if no try changing the phase and use better gauge wire (can help upto 10 V) or a stabilizer 3 KVA (pkr4000) will do for 1 ton.
voltage ok. then see if the compressor is getting too hot (>80C) with some IR thermometer( HAZARD warning:it can burn your skin) and thermal protection is been activated. A shade may help to reduce the temp by 5 C and also make sure the outdoor unit is perfectly vertical if its not due to un alligned compressor piston which will force a comp swap.

check if fan of your outer is spinning. sometimes it gets stuck and AC trips due to heating up.

Thanks a bunch mag for your reply,,,,,,,,,,,,,my instant reaction was that may be it has got something to do with operational settings and was uselessly playing with the remote with no success,,,voltage i must admit is around 170 at my place which i didnt checked from the AC rather on UPS as its input is 170 these days,,,ill try a stablizer to check,,if that can be an issue,apart from that will get some technican as m a layman in technical terms,,,,

fan is fine bro,,,it just that the compressor trips after few moments,

definitely a voltage problem. Stabilizer is a must...

at 170 volts the compressor motor will stall out. Rectify the issue. Call your provider and shove the 170V AC line up their behinds - you pay the bill to recieve proper 225V. You are not paying for a bootleg operation that works from the back of a pickup.

I had same problem with my Haier last year spent 18000 Rs. on Variable stablizer (7KVA) nothing since then,

if compressor refuses to start at first place then it might be a problem with Capacitor

225V is no where not even in Islamabad and in other areas like bahawalpur ,multan etc condition is even worse..
When I switch on UPS .. Fan speed increases to double..forget AC simple fan is not working properly

NOw with AC heavy stablizer is must thats y people r selling AC and buying roomcoolers .

Actually when the voltage comes the voltage is around 230v but as 5 minutes pass the voltage drops to 190-195, the reasons local transformere overload and the cause of this is electricity theft. And to shed some light on that in baluchistan and KPK electricity theft is around 40% in sindh around 30 % including karachi and in punjab around 20%. Jabhi to loadshedding khatam nahi ho rahi

My haier does the same my LG runs even at 180, 3 days ago bought a stablizer for 10,300 rs and it is doing its job well

guys i also have a serious voltage problem i have a 1ton split and .75 ton split on a single phase wapda meter and also intend to run a 1.5 ton pel window ac but our electricity is not even running 1 ton split a/c smoothly it fluctuates alot bcoz of which the a/c trips often ...adding detail that as soon as electricity returns the voltage is fyn i.e.between 195-210 but as soon as various appliances like ups ,refrigerator and deep freezer turn on which have two 1600 watts stabilizers attached to each ,the voltage reduces alot and sumtimes it alows 2 a/cs while most of the tym it refuses to...meanwhile my neighbours run two 1.5 ton two 1 ton and a 2 ton a/c without any problem without any stabilizer provided that they have a three phase meter ..i asked an electrician to check the prob he says better change the wire that comes from meter to a thicker one
mean while i also think that changing the position of my meters wire from the pole out of the three wires to one with more voltage might also help...
and wen i turn on that window a/c after turning of the refrigerator and freezer and other a/cs even still the window units compressor trips after 10-15 mins operation
wat do guys say plz help me asap ...all experts are welcome to respond

@Op capacitor problem. i had same problem with my haier
@xain main wire from meter to house matters alot he is right.and if u intend to put so much load switch to 3 phase
plus if 2 much voltage variation in ur area investigate and report bijli chor's in neighborhood causing it

:)thank u for ur timely response .... first i live in an area where even the juggi walas have meters and pay bills so i think its bijli chor proof ...second ill try changing my meter wires asap and three that three phase is way outta my reach as i live in a rented house ..and my landlord is not mch of a supportive or cooperative guy meanwhile i have heard that getting a three phase meter these days is an herculian task in my area as the wapda guys usually charge 50-60k bribe for it and no way em i goin to pay that much for a place which i dont own nor i know when i might have to move out
