Use android phone with Altis 1.6 FL using MirrorLink

Salam below is the apk file of Floating Apps for Auto (Latest Release).

I will update the post with the guide soon IA. A guide had already been shared by a fellow pakwheeler in another thread but I will try to make it more clear and comprehensive for you guys. Stay tuned!

UPDATE:

How to mirror any android phone using MirrorLink feature in Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 Facelift entertainment system/head unit?
Tutorial:

1. Download "LG MirrorDrive" app from play store and install it.

2. Download "Floating Apps for Auto" app from the above link.(It may ask for permission to install app from unknown sources. Allow it to install the app.)

3. Open the "Floating Apps for Auto" app and skip all the screens. Give the required permissions to the app. Now your "Floating Apps for Auto" app is ready. You should see white & blue colored icon on the top-left corner of your screen.

4. Open "LG MirrorDrive" app(Do not tap on "Ok") and connect your android phone to the car using data cable. Wait for the Alpine unit to detect your device.

5. Once your device is detected by the system it will show "LG MirrorDrive" app icon on the screen. Tap the icon. "LG MirrorDrive" app will open(Do not tap "Ok").

6. Now you can see "Floating Apps for Auto" app's icon on the top-left corner of the Alpine Head Unit. Tap on it. Now you can use any app available on the screen.

Step 1-3 are for the first time only(for every new device).
Follow steps 4-6 whenever you connect your device to your car.

Rs 700 for floating is not big, but some time we can not avail it. I want this app but I have no credit card for payment to play store. My ATM card do not work. Moreover, using credit card for online purchase is not safe. Thanks for sharing nice app.

Actually I am a software developer and I understand that Rs. 700 is not that much for this app and we should buy the app to support the developer. But in Pakistan, due to many reasons, mostly people are unable to buy the app.

P.s. I have also purchased this app. If anyone wanna buy this app it will cost around Rs. 968 (700+conversion charges)!

1.6 Alpine unit is 1.6 is android based?

I was able to install Mirrorlink only on pre facelift 2016 Grande, but I have tried everything with Facelift Grande and Mi Note 4 phone and it is not connecting. Actually the error comes when phone is trying to install app on infotainment unit or the infotainment tries to install something on phone.

Since you are into software, might have an idea whats wrong. Tried both wired and wireless methods. No luck.

No I did not follow it as it is for WinCE units. But can you guide me for andriod infotainment mirrorlink?

Never had any experience with mirrorlink on android head units.

bro not able to connect done each and everything .Unit is not recognizing android phone.I think it only works with mirror link enabled phones.

Are you using oem data cable with your phone? And which phone are you trying to connect?

Downloaded and tried to install floating app. The app says its not compatible with my phone. Im using j7 pro samsung android

I think your phone does not support LG Mirrorlink app specifically.

sir floating app file ka nahi bataya app nay

i downloaded it from the link you have provided, it says not compatible with my phone, i am using j7 pro samsung....its updated to latest android..

i checked play store, there is an app available by the name FLOATING APPS FOR AUTO...for PKR 750....does it do the same job???

i have installed lg mirrordrive app and after installling floating apps for auto will i be able to use my phone screen on alpine 1.6 altis FL alpine system? will it work via usb or wirelessly?...........................

It is the same app from play store. You have to connect it using usb cable.

Please post the screenshot of the error you are getting. I have successfully installed and mirrored a nexus 5 which is older than j7.
