I have a lot of interesting situations to share that I came across buying and selling cars during last 15 years. Will start with the one of the latest ones which occured in beginning of 2020 when I uploaded add for selling my Wagon R on Pakwheels.
As I had to make decision on changing my car and to know the safe side (confirmed offer value) I got my car evaluated at car first and got offer of Rs X, then after checking the asking prices of similar cars on Pakwheels and at Suzuki Certified cars I asked for Rs X + 75k (negotiable). As I didn't want to waste my time with low ballers, I would clearly inform the prospective buyers on phone that "I already have an offer of Rs. X from Car First and if your range is less than X+25k then kindly don't bother even to visit and inspect the car".
During this time I was contacted by a gentleman for the car who used to call multiple times on daily basis and would prolong irrelevant discussions and then would repeat "consider me as your younger brother" and give me the car at Rs X - 50k. I became so tired that I blocked his number, after that he started calling me by another number. I was so annoyed that I asked him that if he is interested I can give the car to him at Rs X (which was dealer price I was already offered) the guy then started repeating the same methodology at an offer of Rs X - 25k....... at last I had to send him a harsh & rude message to him to avoid calling me if he doesn't have budget of Rs X. The car was sold for Rs X +25k the next day I sent the shut up call to this guy, then this guy called me several times after another 2 3 days and when I didn't pick his call, he texted me that he is ready to buy the car for Rs X and then kept on sending texts for hours which for sure I didn't reply.
