A friend of mine bought 2012 Accord V6 for a "good" price below market value as it just never ran right. He thought he would figure it out misfire or something simple whatever, little did he know this thing would turn into super deep money pit real quick. Faced mechanics parts cannoning advice throwing injectors, spark plugs and crap eventually finding out.... 0 compression on one of the cylinders cherry on top being.... 2 cylinders are missing.
Yes 2 whole cylinders missing, with some not so deep diagnosis, found out it's having k24 2.4 instead of 3.5 V6 it's supposed to have according to it's chassis. That's non car guy's nightmare.
Scams especially for cars are prevalent across the globe. Just try to buy car at souq al haraj, that would be last thing you will try. Chassis tempering is common for imports despite having strict laws while local models are generally safe to buy.
Even at states there are number of greedy dealers selling hackjob or slapping unnecessary fees or crazy hidden interest offers with a dark catch.
