I took it to a mechanic in mardan, told him about the problem that car engine does tak tak in early gears with accelaration and gear change. He took a short ride and said lemme fix it in 20 mins. He went under the car engine bay, replaced a part( timing belt or chain) dont know the exact name of that part. After replacing the part, i took a ride and it was all fine.

I was impressed with the mechanic because i was thinking that i would need to open engine head. And he did not teased me just did the right work and all my fears about the engine of my car went away.

In march i changed gear oil from toyota mardan for 16k. They said it will run 40k. But after running 10k kms on my altis when i went there just for inspection they said your gear oil has become blackish and u need to change it. I said u guys told me it will run 40k kms, they they said aye bye shaye. Even toyota dealerships have fake things. Be awqre of these stealers.

Nahh lol nothing will do 40k kms! Only specialist long drain interval oils eg in amsoil but that too under non extreme conditions and with a specialist oil filter!

Not possible on normal oils and with normal OEM oil filter..

Max you should do on a normal fully synthetic oil is 8k km with genuine oil filter.

Yours is a 1.6 corolla altis right? That has a conventional auto. The gear oil on that has a change interval of 80k

Not sure, i forgot the name. It was a part which he took of while he was under the engine bay. It was identical in shap to a lipstick. He charged 2500 for that.

But the oil is already blackish should i ignore it? Car is 1.6 altis auto super ect

Timing chain cannot be changed without opening the engine head so it was not timing chain since he worked under the engine

Timing chain has a cover on the side, called timing cover, no need to open the head. You need to change mechanics

Does this have a transmission dipstick? If so, take a picture. If not, next time you visit isb, will show you a place to get oil tested

Why did the dealership check the transmission oil colour after 10k?

This was my personal guess, I have been in cars world for a year dont have much knowledge. It could be Timing Chain Tensioner. I think he changed tensioner. He said something with timing word, so my guess after research is Timing Chain Tensioner.
