if you have the HC or HD E engines, it uses a full electronic shift transmission, the ECU processes input from the engine coolant sensor, the vehicle speed sensor (in the dashboard), the throttle position sensor (it should be 5 or 6 wire and very big) and the select lever position switch.
Its basic principle the same as the A245E that is seen quite commonly in the gray market corollas with the 4AFE, 7AFE and 1ZZ engines too. Very easy to diagnose and repair if the technician knows how to repair electronic shift corolla automatic.
btw what is the problem? no shifts?
