Using an NCP car as a "PARTS" car

Before I start this thread, yes I know talking about NCPs is highly frowned upon here. I got that impression from readin some previous threads, but hear me out.

I was wondering how cost-effective would be to use an NCP car as a parts car for my own car.

I mean completely changing all the body panels, maybe even get a face-lifted version of your car, swap the interior and engine as well, and let the chassis be as it is. The only thing that would need to change would be the "engine" number which can be, and I emphasize, LEGALLY done through the excise and taxation department.

How would something like this turn out? And please if somebody has any experiences of this, please do share.

one thing should be considered Excise asks receipt for the purchase of the engine which you wont have. other than this brilliant idea!

an NCP vehicle of same year as DONOR vehicle for cosmetics can be used without issues. when you swap an engine make sure of ECU & its electrical wiring.

Ask the yard / seller to provide you with a receipt for engine number only, that will be good enough for endorsement over registration documents.

often toyed around with the idea of getting and NCP JDM alto 2002, and a busted PKDM alto with complete documents and swapping out all the parts.

Yeah that's what I was thinking since my father doesn't usually sell his cars, it would give us basically a close-to-new car with a lot of spare parts for the future

Yes this was actually the main issue and I hope the seller will be willing to make the receipt so I can get the engine number legally changed in papers

There's another query, since electricals are involved, could I potentially convert a basic corolla XLi to a better model with more features? Since I would be replacing the ECU and all other electricals, and the chassis is same with all bolt-on fittings, it should work right?

Me friend has a busted up PKDM Alto. I was thinking of telling him to go for a half-cut, then I saw the NCP cars. He could basically get a new car for 1.5 lacs. Not a bad deal.
