I am running Japanese Suzuki Wagon R 2011 Model since 3 years and I am using Zic 10w40 from March to November and 5w20 from December to February. I change oil after every 3000 KM along with air filter and oil filter. I never noticed any problem in running the car.
The Only problem I faced in 3 years of using is that twice in 3 years I have to get cleaned the "Bhatti" of the car as it was showing yellow engine error light ON both times and after detection it was "Bhatti" to get cleaned. First time when it was showing engine error continuously and i didn't bother, car was slowly losing its pick and one day it was not going up more than speed of 20 to 30 and after cleaning "bhatti" everything was normal. Second time nothing happened to car only it was showing engine light ON again so I get it checked by computer and get cleaned the "bhatti" before anything happens.
Car average is 16-17 with AC on long routes and within city I never noticed. Although Last month I went from Gujranwala to Nathia Gali and It Gave me 12-13 with AC may be because of Hilly Area and a lot of load on engine as its only 660cc. But mostly it gives 16-17 with AC from Gujranwala to Lahore.
Now tha main issue is that last week i came to know that I was using fake ZIC oil through out the years because i give 100 to mechanic for changing oil and filter and checking little bit other things like level of battery water and level of brake oil and 2000 PKR to shopkeeper of auto parts for buying ZIC Oil 10w40 and Air Filter and Oil Filter.
Last week i was visiting Hyper star in Packages Mall and I saw the price of ZIC oil 10w40 3L gallon and it was 2300 PKR and i was shocked that how it is possible that i am getting OIL plus OIL filter plus air filter in 2000 PKR. I checked the website of ZIC and latest price for 3L gallon of 10w40 oil was 2000 PKR and again it is more than what i am paying that is around 1500 PKR for 3L gallon of 10w40 oil. I called ZIC company next morning and they said price is 2000 PKR for 3L Gallon and if you are buying it in 1500 PKR then you are buying fake.

I am using fake oil since 3 years?? but the question is that are fake oils that good to run a car without problem?? I run this car a lot. Daily office going and lot of trips to other cities like i have drove this car from Gujranwala to Lahore, islamabad, taxila, narowal, kartarpur, khanpur, qasoor, muree, nathia gali, aibatabad, kashmir, toli peer, rawalakot, peshawar, changa manga, and lot of other citiis. I bought this car on mileage of 24000KMs and now it is on 78000+ KMs.
Now i am thinking of changing from that shop and machanic because now i am also doubting the quality of oil filter and air filter.
secondly i was thinking about using single oil grade 5w40 instead of 10w40 in summers and 5w20 in winters. Is that good idea?
ZIC and other brands like Shell, Total and Havoline have this graade 5w40 available, I think 10w40 is semi synthetic and 5w40 is fully synthetic.But i will purchase from company petrol pumps or online from company or from any authorized dealer to avoid this fake drama.
