Valve Seal Replacement on Suzuki G13BA (Margalla)

On 4 cyl engine,

Cyl 1 and 4 and 2 and 3 are companions at crankshaft.

So when you rotate to bdc cyl1 and 4 are at bdc, rope was fed into cylinders 1 and 4 and then rotated to tdc. This squeezes the rope into the combustion chambers and will prevent the valves from dropping when the collets are removed.

You mein the head and the intake manifold would be modified or are you swapping it with something?

he will probably swap the head and manifold. He loves this car.

you can also use a 2 jaw slim puller with some modifications as this is not a sunken bucket design cyl head.

Call the shop that did this, appoint a time, drive to lahore or send car there.

From the procedure, doesn't look to be a tough job. I believe anyone with right tools can do this as a DIY. Or tell the mechanic how to do it. I'm sure they'd understand

It needs special tool to compress the springs and care that the keepers/locks dont fall down the oil holes.

Plus it was a 2 man job. Because the homemade tool constantly needs to be held down, to keep spring compressed

Normally how the mechanic open those springs when they dismantle the head, or in that case the special tool not required anymore.

I have sent some videos to my mechanic and told him that I'll help you in this regard. But the special tools thing confuses me.

1. The valve seals changed for the first time on this engine,or overhauled already
2. For how much time the seals must be soaked in engine oil
3. Tappets installed in reveresd order, please elaborate
4. What type of rope used, its length and size of diameter or share a quick snap
5. Which brand valve seals used

They use a C clamp shaped tool that goes around the head to the face of the valve itself.

no - the C clamp shaped tool requires the cylinder head to be removed from engine,

To change valve seals with fully assembled and dressed engine, you need to create a tool to compress the valve springs on top as you dont have access to the valve face. - The tool can be done this way (easy) or you can make a bridge tool that mounts to camshaft/rocker towers etc. to depress the valves in order to release the valve collets/locks
