i think that while the zddp deal is legit, using api sg oil (which is mostly 20w50) is equally bad, because it is too viscous (unavailable below xw40).
Choose the less bad thing.
On another note, we have a cultus that is around 80k run on 10w30 api sn, and it is perfectly fine.
The 10w30 flows alot better too, you immediately notice the higher flowrate , if you remove the oil filler cap after shifting from 20w50 to 10w30.
As per API, the newer api grades are reverse compatible with older ones.
my personal experience is, that the tappet noise is greatly reduced, my common sense says that more flow rate = less noise = better lubrication = less friction
So overall, i think 10w30 API SN is not too bad a choice.
