Valve Seal Replacement on Suzuki G13BA (Margalla)

Dear all I also need this treatment for my baleno in Peshawar. Mechanics insisting on changing rings but I am sure it only needs valve seal replacement. I do NOT know any mechanic willing do it this simple way without removing head. All said they would remove head and everything.

Kindly if anyone know any mechanic in Peshawar who will do it this way please let me know. Many thanks.

First get compression test done. If it's too low, rebuild is needed. Also, does the car consume oil?

Yes it does consume oil but it only smoke in the morning or starting car after parking it for some time. No smoke when running. That is I think a major symptom of valve seals gone bad.

In case if I find nobody to change value seals the easy way, what are possible cons of doing it by replacing them through removing head. Is it only matter of more labour charges and time or other issues can arise.

if you remove the head you shall change the head gaskit as well. Sometimes head & block need fine scrubbing to remate with gaskit.

One idea that has been continuous fed in our mind is dont take the engine out and try to fit in every part then and there, why are we so scared of taking the engine out, putting it on a table and work on it ergonomically...

taking engine out still means, the need for an engine hoist. more tools... space becomes short.

Since the khudadad colony place is under supreme court hammer for commercial non-commercial land dispute. i think the member @brownrose78 @nnabeel & @SER_GTR have tested his work and believe he is reasonable.

I would still suggest you to do compression test first.
Doing the job after r the head isn't much of a problem provided that the mechanic isn't an idiot. You'll need to replace the head gasket which can be done rather easily.

If you can come to Islamabad, there's a mechanic here that can replace Valve seals without opening the head.

Thanks a lot. I will do that. I had AC disconnection issues in my mind and plus first time opening compete engine. I am trying to understand cars now because only then I can make better use of mechanics.

@sameerulhaq064 it is correct to suggest compression test. The symptoms mentioned 1. cold start morning puff 2. oil reduction are signs of valve seal leakage.

I was convinced that opening head is not big deal and only head gasket will be changed in addition.
When head was opened I was told that pistons were not fixed and could move a little side wise... That is piston rings also need to be changed. Opened everything and this is the condition of one of the pistons. Not sure if they are very bad or just used.

I didn't notice any lack of power except when AC was On. Just smoke when starting after parking car for some time or morning start.

The mechanic confirmed the Valve seals are also bad. It is baleno 2000 and rings were never changed before. First time head is opened.
