In order to get the KLR ready for planned rides, I ordered a set of Takasago Excel rims from Woody's Wheel Works in Colorado, with extra strong stainless spokes for more strength:
The front wheel:
The rear wheel:
New Heidenau K60 Scout tires, the front on on the left, the rear one on the right:
These tires are very stiff and were difficult to get onto the rims, specially in the cold weather. I kept them in front of a heater for a few hours to soften them up to be manageable while mounting:
Great expectations from this thread - already.

Tagasago rims still in production.... I was like they only came in 1980s Yamaha RX115 CBU's , did not find them in the local shops.
Looks like Dr. Shab off from 4wheels love, and more in 2wheels.
or Lesser the Wheels more the adventure
is that a clutch bearing in the rear wheel?
Just new bearings specified for the hubs, that is all.
it doesn't look like a radial ball bearing
They are, installed by Woody's Wheelworks in Colorado.
Ready to roll:
Changed the oil and filter on the BRZ:
The drain plug is easily accessible.
A 14 mm socket is needed.
A new crush washer is mandatory.
A new oil filter is next.
Having the filter on the top of the engine is a huge convenience.
Cleaning the oil filter housing is easy.
The new oil filter is installed by tightening it 3/4 of a turn past first contact of the gasket.
The engine takes about 5.8 quarts of oil.
all done!
Changed the snow tires for summer tires on the BRZ:
Changed the snow tires for summer tires on the M3:

Finally, after nearly 16 years on the road, my trusty LX470 developed its first major problem: a slow leak from the water pump and thermostat bracket. While the loss of coolant was nothing major, I kept a close eye on it since it was only a matter of time that the water pump bearing would go bad, with bad effects on the timing belt, which would not be good for an interference engine.

I basically followed these two excellent videos by Otramm on youtube:
