i got verification letter from custom but even then provisional status marked. ETO told me that the provisional suggestion was written in custom verification letter n he can not do himself but just to wait n it could take many years.

so whether custom will itself issue second verification letter?

can i sell out the car as i have got registration book?

There is nothing written as such. Yes you may sell the car if you have got all the documents

I have an Islamabad registered vehicle and it came with a registration letter only, there was no book at all. If your vehicle has been registered and a number has been allocated, it means that the forensics are fine.

I had 99 tz prado 3400 cc
Amnesty cleared
Custom tax paid like 11 lacks 50 thousand and is khi registered 2014 num
Today i got a call from showroom guy to whom i had sold prado. He said he is transferring the prado under his name like after 1 year
But sindh excise told him there are dues left to be paid to custom . .
Any how tomorrow i will visit the guy n personally check the report on which it states that dues are left like 4 lacs
I am wondering how can it be . . As the car got successfully registered got num plates n return file n the book

Have any 1 faced such situation .i will update here when i get hands on that . .

that tax is not your responsibility in my opinion, as I had a 2006 Land Cruiser HZJ79 it was registered in 2013, it was a swiss embassy auction and when I sold it excise and taxation office In Islamabad asked for 420,000 tax on transfer and the buyer paid it...

from all the discussion it seems that amnesty scheme vehicles are a big no no generally...... thanks for the info guys.... i was about to buy a land cruiser which now i dont think i want to bother with

Your vehicle was most probably short levied in terms of duty and now there is a recovery against you for the short levied amount. The tax you will have to pay now is a sequential levy of customs, sales tax and finally income tax. The gentleman who had the vehicle cleared in his name should be dealing with this, in my personal opinion.

The story has come up like this

I reg my vehicle on 2nd july 2014.
Got book num plates and return file in end of october of 2014. that time cost of.reg was 217000rs including all taxes n sold same vehicle in same year (2014)of september . N furter it got sold to 3 more parties without any one transferring it. Now.the last party wanted to transfer it . The with holding tax has been increased that the cost is like 450000rs for non filer. So as we all know its the end party that has to pay right.

The car was cleared from karachi and registered from lahore. AFAIK there is some "jawab from custom walay" which is pending. Could anyone help at this stage because I'm not able to use my car as I'm very cautious.

Bhai sb, you cannot receive the file unless your book is released by excise department.
When you apply for registration, you are alloted a registration number and a receipt. Excise then writes a letter to customs, asking for verification of the docs furnished by you. Upon receiving positive response, the book is made and handed over to you along with the file of your car.
This is how it works. Normally, the response from customs KHI takes 6-8 months because clearance was done from KHI at 4-5 places and there is only one man who issues NOC's related to all these clearances.
The underhand deal rate is around 100k rs.

im not in lahore since few months but ive heard k kuch papers aey huay hain gari k but it doesnt have any book in it. 4-5lakh ki gari pe 1 aur siraf book k liye lagana zyadti nai hai?and you're telling me k eventually ill get the book after some time because it has already been over a year?

Tax return Filer and non-filer issue comes here ...

If the person who is transferring the vehicle on his name is a tax return filer then he would be paying lesser amount of withholding tax .. And if he is a non filer .. Then he would have to pay double tax

i have purchased one Vitz for my dad. and its Amnesty scheme, we have all the documents, Registration book and now transferred on my Name as well. i didnt find any trouble in the whole process.

Here is evidence. Why people are reluctant to buy amnesty ? I felt amnesty ride is much much more clean and in good conditions than the same model driven in pakistan. Unnder some conditions. That's its previously not used in Pak :p.

Amnesty in big cc engine car is kind of trouble due to huge taxes . Like a 3400cc wht on transfer is 250000rs for ntn n 450000rs for non ntn users same goes to 2500cc to 3000cc tax is higher . Less cc has less taxes
