Vehicle without file? What to do?

hello guys!
my friend bought a car without file.
he is in how much trouble???

please guide me in this matter. the person from which he bought is reliable but even he didnt got file from the previous owner which i think is not available now.

get a duplicate one if its on the name of previous owner. not a big problem.

get a duplicate file for this... it ain't anything big... (make sure the car u r talking about has a file at civic center) some old models files are kept with them... ( mostly the cars before 2000) if he goes for a dup file its gonna kill the sales a bit.

i am talking about lahore number car here in islamabad, model year 2004.

Duplicate file can be acquired but let me warn you beforehand that the process is not going to be easy. When i lost my file,i was informed about the procedure which starts from putting a news first in the newspaper, then filing a report with the police station,going to the company to get a copy of original invoice so on and so forth.

An easier way would be to arrange some CHAI PAANI or pull some strings at excise & taxation office.

Whether selling a vehicle without its file is an issue or not, i don't know but when i was selling my bike without file, owner backed out at the last minute due to unavailability of file.
