Dear Members,
I would like to share a small probelm and subsequently get your feedback. I visited Lahore a few days back in my EXI PT, unfortunately a day before I was leaving Lahore, I could not find fuel at few reliable gas stations that I know off in town.
I always use a 60%-40% mix of super and hi-octane in both vehicles speifically in this one beacuse of the transmission and use caltex techron solely. On that day I could not find any fuel let alone hi-octane and stopped at a PSO gas station in the contonement where I saw a few cars parked. Got the tank topped up and set off the next day for ISB, upon return I parked my car and did not use it until yesterday, which is when I discovered the problem.
When I started my car the did not rev up like it does with the auto choke, instead it was vibrating and stalled before it went off completely a few times. When I reved it up to increase the engine temp and looked behind, it was emitting black smoke that reminded me of my 2.0 D back in 1997.
With the gratest of difficulty I drove it to the caltex gas station and filled it with 10 lits of HOBC. It has improved since then, but still stalls when the engine is cold. Moreover the autochoke does not kick in right away at the first start in the morning.
Please tell me is it because I have used two much of HOBC for which the engine is not designed and used super from PSO this time and not Caltex that's caused this problem or is it bad fuel that I got from PSO. Let me also add that yesterday along witht the black smoke there was a foul smell, just like when you fuel up a kerosine oil stove and burn it. I have checked the vitals, Oil is fine and clean, coolant is in its original color don't understand the problem. Will take it for diagnostics to Honda on Saturday, until then any recommendations that could help me salvage my weekend being spent at Honda are welcome!!!!
