Verification of custom documents for an imported car in Karachi

Hi, I have a question for you all and please help. I've spotted a car in Karachi which is a Japan import and the import month is January 2007. The car is unregistered. I am about to go to Karachi in a few days time. Please tell me how I can verify the import documents of the car before making the payment and please tell me the procedure before money exchanges hands. Please help. I will have to bring the car to Islamabad for registration.

Please tell me where I'll have to go in Karachi to get the car documents verified if it is a legit import or not.

I went to excise and taxation office in Islamabad and there an agent told me that it would cost around Rs. 200,000 to get it registered for a tax filer and Rs. 275,000 for a non-filer. The amount includes all the taxes and penalty.

Please help.

Bro these r the papers required for Vehicle Registration
1. Bill of Lading.
2. Bill of Entry (Goods Declaration GD-1)
3. Export Certificate issued by the Japanese Government.
4. Sale Receipt of Importer.
5. Excise & Taxation Dept Infrastructure Cess - Challan
6. Sales Tax Invoice (Issued by Importing shipping agency)
7. Tax Payment Receipt (IT-31)
8. Passport copy (of the person on who's name the vehicle is imported.)
9. Auction sheet. ( Not Necessary )

@muradi bhai i have an issue and need your guidance. I had imported a car through a PW member. I submitted all the documents to Islamabad ETO and got the car registered. Today I went to collect the registration book and file. They told me that the record of custom duty, that is available online, has different chassis number than your car. the last digit of the chassis number of my car is "90" while on the custom duty record (a printed copy of it was attached in my car's file by them ), it was "00". They want me to get it fixed before they can issue me the registration book, but did not told me how. Can you guide me how i can resolve it
