Vespa restoration advice

Guys im looking to buy a 1960s vespa and restore it.
Need your expert advice on
1. Where to get it from in the isb, rwp or lahore region.
2. Also need references for a good vespa mechanic in isb or rwp region.

vespamaintenance.com is very helpful. i suggest buying some rust converter (to fix the rust, without a full paint job).

and if you are messing with the carburetor, use a good quality flat head screwdriver and try to tighten the screws evenly, warped parts are annoying and expensive

Rust converter?
I could find anything to get rid of the rust in the market.
All i could find was wd-40

Got a pretty rusted tank. I tried the white vinegar tip then the nuts and the rattling trick. Both were some what effective. Now im trying apple cider vinegar.
I have no idea on what to do with rust on other parts.

for the body areas which you can sand, just sand the loose rust lightly, then spray on rust converter, it is available at metro in rustoleum brand

you guys should see the baloch youngsters of Karachi, they put in what Im assuming are 250 or 350cc engines in their vespas and go absolutely crazy on the road. They become devilish fast.

the best pillion riding is on a vespa - you ease on the rear seat and enjoy the ride because your foot pegs are placed at a comfortable location at the front.

Before you start the restoration make sure you have the right tools like flywheel puller, clutch holder,Clutch Nut Tool ,Steering head bearing tool to name a few without these tools you'll have a hard time removing things from the engine/bike without damaging them

also make sure to save every little part, even if you dont plan to use them again because sometimes a parts is not available in the market or only bad quality ones are available and due to this you cant progress further with a built !!

also I am glad you choose to restore the bike your self, its fun and you learn alot of new things and actually do a better job than these road side "mechanics".
regarding vespa there is almost everything about it on the internet so make sure to always google first

Vespa P Series Maintenance & Repair this one is pretty good to it has tutorial on everything vespa from break to wiring diagrams

and the most helpful is modernvespa.com/ its forum where lot member share cheap and easy way to build and maintain your bike,
