Brother Kaloo28! from whom u r asking this? bhala chor bhi kabhi apni chori mana hai. If he had dramatized one or two car lenghth distance, then one may think that something actually happened. But what he is showing is just a dream he has been watching since he bought his 1300cc city. It seems like that Gli has taken a gap og abt 100 ft in no time. I guess toyota guys have put something under the 2D hood also. And that thing is strong enf to easily take over these 1300 cc cars.

Since last discussions, i will love to tell u some of my experiences.

Its fun to have races, but some time the opponent is much more SHATIR than u, i hate cuttings and stuff like that, i love straight gear to gear matches.
a) My old toyota XE 98 1.3l VS
old toyota 2.0d
The experience were good as i used to get beaten by the 2.0 ds not quite easily, but so.
Yes xe do gives hard time to older 2.0d's
b) My old toyota GT Twin Cam 1.6l
VS old toyota 2.od
Simply washed out by me on either straight or cutaways.
c) My old toyota XE 1.3 l Vs
New 2.0 D's/
Enormously faster than the old 2.0ds, its much much quicker than the old 2.0Dies. So better not to try race with 2.0d new one with XE.
d) My new Baleno 1.3L JXR on Petrol
VS Old 2.0 D
No comparison, washed out like they were standing.

e) My New Baleno VS New 2.0 D Range
UMM, Excellent pickup i must say, but it competed with me terribly in fisrt gear but 2nd third and onward i simply smoked 2.0d to stop light.
I have been in Competition with 2.0ds either in Urban or through motorways, they all were washed out by me.....simply washed away.
These are my living experiences, i dont want to break any ones heart, if anyone dont agree with me its okay. But one must face the Realities.

Yes i agrree 2.0 new is a very good car, but do not compare it with Baleno 1.3l or City 1.3l , or with XLI 1.3 l. They all are faster than 2.oD range.

I have never really participated in any race discussions ever before...but here i agree totally woth ATHER708....I had a Galant 91 ( which I sold 3 days before Eid ) which is 1600cc no vtec or anything no modifications and i used to beat 2.0D's easily...
So 2.0D is not match at all for a 1.6 Gli or a Vti ...

2.0D is seamlessly superb ride as far as economy, sale price, and comfortability is concerned.
PLZ do not compare Luxury with Performance.

waysay aaj kal i have se saloon auto too for not comfirmed period. anyone who have vti prosmatic can arrange a drag race to chk the pickup in stock condition.

come to reality and shud admitt the facts. and yes i never mix up luxury and performance. i know 2.0d is much much ahead in consumption but i always compare pickups.

neither i have city u ppl r not even worth to be paid attention.

of course theres is no match between a 1.6 petrol car and a 2.0d but heres a challenge we put rs1000 worth of fuel in both of them and race till the fuel lasts lol... and then we will c the 2.0d bash the civic real hard

ya thats wat i msayin these r 2 cars that r not meant to be compared one is a car whose srength is speed and the other is a car whose strength is economy i was just trying to be fair to the corolla because if we r comparing a civics strength to the corollas weakness then we should also compare corollas strength to the civic weakness .........peace

what u think 2.od is slow .it is slow in pick up but after wards it just smoke the petrol cars.2.0d gives better economy & can pull at its exteme limits when it is full of load but petrol car could not do this .good example is that when u turn on AC on civic then tries to pull in 2nd gear after the speed breaker etc( so u ave to put the petrol car in 1st gear & build up the speed ) civic or any other petrol car will let u fell the loss of power ,while 2.0D or any other diesel car will not let u feel this type of feeling.
u can see every second car COROLLA on road other than suzukis b/c corolla is reliable and strong .good example is that u can find corolla 94 1.3 @ round about 5.8 lac while civic 94 round about 4.25 lac .here is the difference b/c corolla & civic
in my oponion COROLLA is great deal with money & corolla is best (2.0D)

since 94 corolla has just changed 1 new models like it is manufacturing Bentli

where as civic launched in 95-96 then in 99-2000 then 2001 and now in 2003-2004.

and still 94 civic is of 4.25 where as 94 corolla 5.8 (thats tooo much u r over estimating its price)
