[highlight]CLASSIC CARS OF LAHORE AS I REMEMBER[/highlight]
Dear Friends,
I am also a claasic car lover like most of the guys here.I left Lahore nearly 10 yrs ago.I will list down the cars I came across and will be happy to know about there where abouts.
Triumph Spitfires.(yellow coloured, owned by film actor Nadeem,which i almost bought it,another owned by actor Qavi perhaps the sameone.green coloured in a showroom on abbout road was there for years.White one owned by Uncle Duke a sinister personalty of lahore,a maron one with Datson 120y engine owned by a chartered bank officer in defence lahore.
MG midget olive green coloured owned by a german engenier.A red MG which was parked in a showroon near Kalma chowk for years.
American Dreams. President Ayub Khans car a black Cadillac was for years in a workshop cum house on abbot road lahore.A black big caddy 1950s perhaps owned by the owner of Plaza cinema was parked for years on Lawarence road workshop.Chevy Belair 1956 was owned and restored with great care by a guy Mr.Fuad Salahudin.Buick eight Roadmaster 1948 owned by nawab of Dir in gulberg .Ford T Bird 1958 owned by my friend Dr.Mashood Shah.Cadillac 1959 coupe owned by Mr.Mohd Ali Movie star..Red coloured 1956 Caddy with fins,unknown owner.
Mercedes. 1966 220SEC owned by Dr.Mashood Shah.Mercedes 1966 280S owned by some polo player.Mercedes 300 SE 6.3 1966 parked in a house in gulberg near sherpaoo bridge in bad state.Mercedes 1966 280S owned by some retired militay general in shadman lahore.Mercedes 200 1968 still in mint condition belonging to a former attory general from ayub khan days parked in a garage near the old city.my friend grandfather.1948 Mercedes belonging to a friend of my cousin.Mercedes 190 1958 parked in a workshop near Model town.
White coloured Sunbeam alpine use to see in Shadman when we were in the medical college.Humber 1950s often seen driven by a famous surgeon.!1956 Chrysler belonged to a uncle of my friend in Model town in parked in a garage.Mini 1275 GT sport 1975 black coloured the one I owned.Mini 1275 1974 owned by a guy Shahid Mahmood.Mr.Akram syed tried to trick me around for my mini.Triumph Herald with removable top red coloured ,I had it in 1988.VW Golf 1975 orange coloured sports american model,I sold it in 1997.
Austin 1934 was under repair in a workshop on temple road near bhondpura chowk.Old green coloured vintage car perhaps from 1930s owned by a mechanic near King Edward Medical college , perhaps near gardi trust building.Few old cars make unknown in Dyal Singh mansion workshops.A black coloured opel with reverse doors parked inside hall road..
It would be a real pleasure to know about the whereabouts of these cars.
