I am ecstatic .........definitely very doable ....very very doable. Being bought sight unseen. I will post the pics of the restoration and the whole saga in a new post as well.

I have always had a fascination for unrestored cars. I had asked a few members to bring in their project cars but they weren't too keen. I have always wante to display a car being restored at the show. Every year i plan to take one of my cars and have my team work on it for people to see but due to time constraints it hasn't happened yet.

it was my first time to the vcccp annual show. and i hav to say it was very very awesome. we hav so many good cars here. i especially liked the 1959 corvette. the mustangs n jaguars were none the less amazing.

sir i wanted to meet u eprsonally but u were too busy with the media ppl giving interviews.
y arn't classic bikes included aswell. obviously its a car club but i personally think bikes would not be a bad idea.

 Please consider these few lines as a small tribute to you for all your efforts in making the 2008 show a smashing success.

 I can only imagine what it must have been working round the clock on the Jaguar and mustang.  Seeing the dawn break while in your garage with greasy hands is an experience in itself.

And then appearing so fresh at the show somehow handling all the hard work.

That Alpha Romeo is an excellent catch - it's slightly abused with those oddbit parts, but it can be back on the road looking spectacular in no time.

You should have given me a shout and I would have left the media guys. It's always a pleasure to meet car buffs like yourself. Classic bikes are a part of our club and every year we plan on having bikes as well. Infact my line up for this show included a 1949 Triumph Speed Twin with a sidecar but just didn't have the time to give it that one hour that it required to get ready. I love bikes (probably more than cars)

The green '56 Buick 2 door hardtop belongs to Farieha Altaf the fashion shows / Lux awards fame. I don't think that she would sell.

Mohsin ... great talking to you yesterday. Spoke to Ahsan. He spent a fair while talking me out of the Giulietta spyder. So just to set his mind at ease I shall make a trip to Karachi personally and pick it up.

The old Omar leghari stepnose car with the Borrani wheels is lying at a workshop. It is owned by Abu Zar Bukhari of Autotechnics... the Porshe importer. He had a Corona engine put in with the gearbox and had the central tunnel cut apart to fit the gearbox. The car is lying out in the open with the paint stripped to bare metal. RUSTING AWAY. The mechanics have not been paid and so they could not care less.

He is also the part owner of another GTV 1750 in Karachi.. this is the old Alfa owned by Tariq Saigol when he used to live a few houses away from us in Lahore. I have tried to buy it several times as well but he wants a silly sum for it... Porsche Boxster money. This is probably because he knows that I have wanted it for the last 30 years.

My ALfa is going to be restored to this
