talking of Mazda 1500's here's the Cosmo Sport 110 1967 the first with a 2 rotor Wankel Rotory Engine

If I'm not mistaken, this is one of Kahmed79's favourite cars. It must be surely very very expensive now. And difficult to find in good shape. Had one of the earliest 1.0 litre twin rotor rotary engines.

Another car that springs to mind is the original Prince Motors C10 Skyline of the late'60s. The legend of the GT-R was born in those days.

The younger cousin of the Cosmo, the RX-3, would finally compete favourably with the GT-R

Another Jap Classic is the Toyota 2000 GT........Datsun 240Z is also good but still not up there with these two...

Albrecht Von Goertz (credited with the 507). The Toyota 2000GT could have been badged as Nissan (or rather as Datsun), had Datsun not decided to pull out. Another priceless car.

never had these good Japanese cars in Pakistan. Nissans do come out with some exceptional models from time to time...throw some light on the Maxima....the beast.

Only 337 GTs were ever made, and it has a small role in the Bond film You Only Live Twice, where the Tokyo policewoman in charge of 'Bond San' drives one.
If memory serves, she outruns the bad guys in it too.

Staff from IGI insurance were distributing leaflets advertising Third Party Insurance at the VCCCP car show. Has anyone followed up to see what terms and conditions we will get? The number is 0800 234 34
and the website is www.igi.com.pk
The leaflet promises a 10% discount..whatever that means in this day and age.

I spoke the IGI ppl there and didn't find the insurance useful at all. I can't recall what was good or bad about it but they gave me a brief which was rubbish. No harm in rechecking though, I could have mis-understood as it was during our show and I was being pulled from all sides.

that door on the Toyota's side looks like a golf bag boot...just a wild guess. maybe Sami would know...

Dodge is owned by Farrukh Ikram of Millac. It had gone for a paint job so could'nt come in our show this year.

We do have japanese cars in pakistan which can arguably be called classics now. By way of example, the coupe model of Corolla 1972-74 (KE25/TE27 levin) or the rotary engines Mazda 808/818/RX3 and 929/RX4 coupes. These are considerd quite desireable and now have quite a following internationally. The corollas came in Dual carb 1200 cc (KE25)and 1600cc (TE27 Levin) versions. A modern classis is the corolla/sprinter AE85 and AE86 Coupes, which have an established reputation on the drag/drift circuit.

the purists might disagree here, but these are quite practical classic cars which are easy to find, easy to restore, and easy to drive/maintain on a daily basis. And therfore, an easy project for the budding enthusiasts!

A personal favourite is the Corolla KE30 Coupe (1977-79)
Not to forget here is the little Honda S800, anyone remember those?
