The minor looks good. However there are some modifications that will have to be undone. The front wings (with headlights) are from a later model and will have to be replaced. The headlamps on this car were where the desi aftermarket front indicators are now fixed (next to the grill). Similarly the rear indicators will have to be removed. The indicators for this car were on the the pillars between the doors (pop up type).

Thanks for the welcome. Actually I visit this thread every day. I just dont post very often, only when I "have something to say" (as oposed to "have to say something").

The rear lights on the Minor remind me of my grandfather's 1951 Morris Oxford. The car looked exactly like the Minor except it was larger. My grandfather who was a lawyer had bought the car in 1955 from an English judge who had retired and was returning to England. He sold the car when he retired in the 70s. He paid 3000 for the car, a library of law books and some office furniture. I will try and find a photograph to post.

Thanks for the info. Series 1 had lights on the grill I think Series II built from 1948 to 52 has the same shape. I really don't have enough knowledge about this.

No, its not on the street but within a plaza, or a building you can say on right hand side of the street.

Also there is Ajmal Rubber Store (same street) I got some parts for morris minor off him. Again, he has some old inventory inherited from his dad. I saw some Mini Austin parts with him as well. Later, I realized that he is getting too expensive, so I moved away. However, you may explore him as well at 0333 458 0679. Nothing wrong in asking, who knows you might run into something valuable.

My experience, or luck says that you have to try shops that are situated there for a generation.

Thanks for the info of Talat & Co. I think you offered him a good price. I would price a VW, standing for 4 years, at around 15-20 thousands, subject to papers and taxes. I have asked my brother to have a look at it, as I am in Melbourne till December.

BTW, there used to be shop in Babu Bazaar that stocked a lot of VW parts, even hard to find trim items, mostly of brazilian origin. Is is still there?

I dont know much about Morris Minors but maybe MGB63 is right about the older low light version being given a 'facelift'.

The small pic you posted off Wikepedia does show the non low light model with a split screen......Im confused now.

Dodge challenger is in town now with 440 engine, I am lucky enough to found a Dodge 318 CU with gear box which is the stock engine , and NOS cragger SS wheel which is era correct rims, BF goodrich 15/265 tyres, So it spent many hours today from taking the car to the denter, engine to the mechanic, buying 318 engine , craiger wheel and tyre and a spare holly 750 CFM double pumper ( racing series )
