The car is mine and is under restoration... ie the mechanicals have been done and pics of the diff and the suspension are up on the VCCCP thread. The denting has begun and paint stripper has been used on one side.

Sorry guys didnt have much interesting to say so havent poisted. About Citroens.. the most comfortable car I ahve ever been in was a Citroen Dyane way back in the late 70s, the most wacky I have driven is a green Citroen GS belonging to a friend here in Lahore. As the hydraulics leaked hydraulic oil of the same specific gravity and we hoped the same properties was made with a mixture of engine oil, kerosene and brake oil in the late 80s. Guess what it had to catch fire.

When it worked the switch like brake and the direct steering and the pod like switch gear was out of the Paki Corolla world. I remember being lost in a rural area asking a villager where I was and the reply the wag gave... an apt one ... was that I was in an airplane. The most modern Citroen I have driven is the BX and it was completely flat through corners ... brilliant.

Dug out a few photos of some of the cars... probably classics on the cusp I have owned. Will post the pics up soon

i need to ask u somethings about your Z...i'm running a '75 trueno with the Z drivetrain but having issues with fueling...

would appreciate if you could post details about your carb setup. i don't have the stock carb so would like to get one or the closest alternative.

moak..... get a Nissan 260C carb...these are twin choke carbs found in the ex Kuwait 260s and in the Petrol Taxi scheme cars. easily available at Shershah etc.

I plan to upgrade to twin webers or an original manifold with the twin SU carbs

The 75 trueno or corolla levin was initially used in Rallys especially in the Far East Australia and NewZealand by toyota before the celica. It came with the precursor of the 4A-GE twin cam only this was with an 8 valve head. Get that with a twin carb set up. It will be awesome handling and near to original as well

anyway, i know that 4AG-E was a good engine but unfortunately mine came as the modest sprinter version with the 4K engine found in 76-79 corollas. it had a shorter gear ratio and final drive, which made it pretty quick in those days......

the Z setup is fun especially with the added slide at the rear end, allowing me to drift on demand.....

too bad that the shershah ppl don't recognize the carb from the car name (260 C or otherwise) and the only hope i have is to match it with a sample...

i've tried a couple of carbs similar to the one that came with my L26, but the primaries are always starving.....the reason found after opening the carbs was pure bad luck! they were damaged or clogged beyond repair....

if you could even attach a close up of your carb, it would really help......

Its back home. Dont have the time or the funds these days for a ground up restoration.

Hunbal .....Seen this car. Its only a stones throw from my home for 46 odd years. Its a chrysler new yorker or windsor circa 1957 or 8. It was being restored about three years ago ... and I actually saw the stripped V8 block. The cars floor had been replaced and done very nicely with proper rustproofing etc but since it has deteriorated again from the pics.

Incidentally the mechanic/denter drives a Cortina MK1.

The other interesting thing in the workshop was a Jag in line 6 from an XJ6 ...engine lying around and a Triumph herald being restored in a rather tatty fashion. I made enquiries as I was thinking of getting a MK1 Jag at the time and the engine belonged to Asim Mohyuddin who has a Toyota engine in his Jag XJ series 2. The head had been shaved so many times that it overheated and was not usable.

The mechanic offered to restore my cars for me but with the proviso that I would not give my input and with no time limit. I declined.
