that is an interesting observation. anyone willing to shed some light on this?

what i do know is, those look like the smaller wala rickshaws, the earlier models, much earlier. it could be an interesting project to make a hybrid vespa, older front from a rickshaw and a regular mid-sixties body.

hehe wasent being cheeky actualy i would love to own one of those rickshaws just for the hell of it hehe restore it with a canvas top and go around Islamabad/some parts of lahore selling gelato in it hehe would be quiet a gimick like every thing new in pakistan is. romano you didnt inlighten us on 60s vespas in isloo pindi.

yes it would be a very worth while project some one can check with the kabarias if they have these front fenders in heydrabad thats where the pic is from bodies for vespas are still made in lahore i have seen a couple of shops making them a old style body and fender can be put on a more un wanted vespa model

There is a junkyard close to where i live which specializes only in old classic cars ...These cars are usually robbed very quickly by people like us for parts
If one is interested in the whole car ,they run for somewhere around $200 a piece unless if its a hardtop then its $300 and convertibles go for $500 a piece

Just got back from Dubai - impressed with the Vespa discussion, very intersting. I have a brand new speedometer for a Cushman - will have to look for it. Its brand new and says 'Cushman' on the dial. I know of one Cushman in Karachi. If any has one let me know and I 'll send the meter.

I have been lookng for the late 40's Vespa with light on the fender for many years but no luck so far...Safeer a running 60's vespa can be found for around 8,000 rupees. You can paint truck art on your Lambretta as well..

It seems we'll all end up buying Vespas soon - It 'll be fun to go out together....

hehe i have decided to cheat on my first loves for a while yup all of those are listed the yellow 56 is the same one you posted pics of a bunch of pages ago . its great in a way that one sees old vespas still scamering around lahore so its not much of a head ache if some one is looking for one . hehe that turbo vespa would be great fun its got more HP than what your avarage pakistani family commutes in.

oh is it 2cv day or some thing spent the better half of the day in hospital yesterday .came back home and there was a great show about citroen with most of it about the 2cv the bad par was that it was all in french .

yes, 60th anniversary today. there are a few nice articles on the bbc website, other than the link i posted. i remember mohsinikram saying something about a 2cv that romano had, which was apparently unique in some way.

how many do you think survive in good running order in pakistan?

someone was telling me that the team responsible for the construction of the tarbela dam used 2cv's as their mode of transport and sold/auctioned/gave away about 500 odd of them, when their tenure was complete. this was a few decades ago, does anyone know of this? most of them probably went to the kabaria im sure.

oh didnt know that it was a great show to bad i didnt pay attention in french class as a kid . there was even a 2cv limo and some beautifull traction avants they were also showing the 2cv prototype... there was a 2cv scraped in karachi a couple of weeks ago too bad though .

not many lambretta is in Karachi too, i think you should buy a good vespa before its too late.
