do you have weber downdraught ? if yes post some pics, I might be intrested. I think holly street avenger 500 or 600 cfm will work on your engine. dont be afraid of the number, I am sure they will perform . I used on my beetle and its worked fine

i'm just worried that it might be difficult to set the right mixture....

i had tried a larger carb earlier but the prob was that the mixture was never right and the car was basically just guzzling gas and rattling without much of performance.

i returned the weber sometime ago......now i have the carb that came with some nissan models (i'm told with glorias)...

don't know what cfm.

the overall performance is the best in the carbs i've tried uptill now but since the carb itself is faulty, the rpms 'dip' and then rise (i'm assuming carb pump prob). will post the pic for you nonetheless.

also, while i'm at it, i'm looking for a 3.9 read diff (4 nuts)... even japs would do...(late 70s celica came with 3.9s).

any leads?

Safeer sorry man... its on the agenda but sort of slips dowm... I actually need a crate to fit in one chrome bit.... the windscreen surround which would bend otherwise. Need to protect what we have...

Been also busy trying to get the Alfa 1750 engine released from Customs... I was threatened with jail by the DC....again... the sentence for importing a used engine is 3 months.
No wonder our country is F***ed up.kalashnilovs no problem... heroin no problem....used engine for an Alfa ... NO ****ing way.
Got it out using usual Paki techniques.. its either money or the superintelligent d**k realises that is either A WANA/ S Waziristan posting or do what is required.
Also got a new dash and console for the Datsun... on the way from the US

when the corrupution is the law of a country then you shouldnt break it :), from port 136 containers disapeared but they can pin point 1 engine, you should have been order a tank then it will be your doorsteps withing 24 hours

safeer bhai a sane ammount of money for me would depend on the condition of the car and this caddy looks like its been pampered i would pay as much as i could afford even if i had to get some money out of my old folks.lol

romano and i were talkiing about a vintage steam roller the real steam rollers not the stuff you see on the roads these days and some thing interesting popped up though it is not a very usefull vehicle in terms of a vehicle that one can ride in once in a while but it still is some thing worth saving afterall it is just as important as the peshawar fire engines and probably older then them . here are some pics . let me know what you guys think should be done . your input really matters so please dont hesitate in shareing your thoughts

this is a pic of it in the early 1960s looks like it was still working but might not be the same exact one .

its a aveling & porter steam roller date of production not known but will find out soon .

to protect the privacy of the people in the pic they have been smiley faced

the second last pic is either of the same steam roller or another one from the mid 70s
and the last pic is of a similar steam roller in restored condition .

it is always a pleasure to meet fellow car enthusiasts and when we do meet, cars take a back seat. The Caddy is gorgeous and not available. There 's another one exactly like this in powder blue & white top somewhere in Islamabad. Romano has a pic.

Jim's Indian Chief is in Karachi stored (not restored)in a safe place. There is a 50's Caddy in Karachi which could perhaps be sold as I write this message. It's going to a good home and somebody on our thread....let him announce it himself.

a simlar steam roller was in Karachi behind PIDC bridge but has disappeared. There was a talk of one in Peshawar. Romano mentioned about one too....its an old machine and should be saved.

no fair:( hehe just kidding , yes there might have been quiet a few of these steam rollers i can imagine , there wouldent be much use of this one as a vehicle but should be saved either as romano was saying for the golra train museum or if we get our own transportation museum some day.

transport museum is not a bad idea. I had posted pics of the caddy that Safeer has bought or buying on this thread many many pages ago. So all had a fair chance to make a deal Javed Ibrahimhad one in Islamabad....the dark blue '56 Fleetwood. Romano can perhaps shed some light on it.

I restored some cars to the stock position but I always want a lowrider so my and mohsin's plan is to build as a lowrider with chop roof and wire spokes rim with satin black paint and red interior and offcourse with a V8 :), but plan can be changed
