been visiting infrequently and as a fly on the wall... voyeur...

The charsi denter has gone back onto charas and so the car fitting that should take two days is taking several weeks. I am close to killing him... that will put me out of my misery at least....

Anyhow thats why the challenger was sold off.... sorry safeershah... again monday i promise i shall put teh bits in a box and bilti them.

The 124 cc .nice wheels on the coupe. I sure cant say now that both surviving 124 coupes in Pakistan are in my garage.

Mohsin you seem to know Kashif well. Will he sell the alfetta gtv minus the nissan bits he has put on. I just want the rolling shell... the interior and the glass. I have slowly convinced the other half to allow me to go to the UK for the alfa parts . the alfa engine is in but there are issues. in the process of putting in the corolla engine the passenger side mounting point was shifted down 2 inches .... will need adjustment and electric arc welding for strength.

I have had to give up a lot in the negotiations.

Parts for one alfa gtv and one alfetta gtv .... i have two alfa engines anyway and just need a gearbox... transaxle and driveshaft for the alfetta and one weber ( I have another one) and we are rolling

A bit of buffing wheel, some jeweller's rouge and some elbow grease on the Alfa valve cover will make for a really pretty engine bay occupant! While the buffing wheel is out, you might have a go at the Webers as well.

It seems to me that your denter gets his inspiration from Sherlock Holmes and his 5% solution. And you are playing the role of his surgeon friend... The only thing missing is a bit of camaraderie though.

Hahahah your charsi looks exactly like the charsi mechanic here in karachi who does minor work on my cars.It took him a whole day to change the4 brake pads.Would have probably taken him a month to pull out a dent.Talk about Co-incidence!

Sami..voodoo. yes the buffing shall be done along with the solex reconditioning etc. the 1750 engine has two solexes.. side draughts.....first i want the thing to drive then will take it down for the bodywork and the trim and finally the fitting of the engine after the shining and buffing. probably end of the year.

the z engine bay is being painted this coming week and then it shall be on the road driven to the paint shop.

the webers are for the other engine which is a 1300 off a giulietta... probably the spyder that you told me about Mohsin. The other spyder is languishing in lahore. owner with the maker now.

I have found someone who says that they can make laminated curved windscreens. so i am going t let them make one for the 124 cc and then for the z and the alfa.... lets see what he can do. glass factory....

Adnan's E Type is not that great when it comes to cosmetics...he is more into performance and speed than looks. I agree with you all that mirrors look totally out of place and are an eyesore.

Interesting to learn the presence of French carbies on an Italian car.

I very much second your order of things. I think it's best to have all the work done on the car before detailing the engine. Having some paint or grease stick to the shiny bits will be very disturbing. Best to verify that the car is in top nick before putting time into polishing it.

Please share your experience of the windshield fabricator, it should be interesting to see how he does it.

Good to hear that the Z is on track as well. You're going with the original engine isn't it? Rebuilt? Or just a little freshening up with new rings and a de-glaze / hone of the cylinders? I think it's been discussed before but I can't for the life of me remember anything about it.

I was about to comment that the E-type looks nicely weathered, and not in a bad way either. It looks like a car that is driven and enjoyed as opposed to sitting in a garage.

It does seems to be running a bit rich if the exhaust residue on the rear valance is anything to go by... I imagine it makes a few loud bangs on the overrun after a hard sprint. Lovely!
