When I signed up I put the name Lancia because that was the car which got me talking with Mohsin during his visit on the occasion of the VCCCI Rally.
Most of us were not aware of their visit, we participated in the rally in the morning and went home. In the evening I came to the venue after having dinner out because we rarely organise decent events in Mumbai. It was cooking on the open terrace on one side and us participants chtting on the other side. In short bad.
Somehow Mohsin liked my car very much. He and Mr. Aga had to give a prize and they selected my car. So when I came he looked out for me and we chatted briefly. I saw that this guy was a true blue enthusiast. Lucky that his family goes along with his hobby, that can sometimes be a real problem.
Anyway, thought that I would share some pics of the Lancia. She was invited to take part in the Cartier event, so for that I did do some sprucing up. And I did some research into her history. Seems this body was built on a Lancia Astura chassis of 1932. The engine was very troublesome and blew. Then a SS (pre jaguar period) 1 1/2 Litre engine and gearbox was fitted, taken from a derelict sedan. Chassis, suspension, steering are all Lancia. And the car was raced, I have a picture of this car being driven at a race. At one point a lady also raced this car.
Since this lancia was my connect with Mohsin, I had signed in with that name.
