@all . Thought I'd share some goodies from a recent trip to the BMW Museum in Munich. Although "classic" doesnt come to mind when you think BMW but they do have some cool classics as some of you may vouch... among the highlights for me are the 1939 328 touring coupe Superleggera, 1956 BMW 507, 1978 BMW M1 and my favorite bimmer to 1975 3.0 CSL "Batmobile".... theres plenty more to come... isettas, the mid engine 700 etc etc... and lots of bikes too

BMW 507 was a very pretty car; Very sad that it could not compete with the Gullwing, perhaps it was under-rated! The production had to halt because the 507 almost led BMW to a bankruptcy!! Later BMW recovered; Thnx to Herbert Quandt for a little capital investment followed by launch of cheap econoboxes like the 1500, Isetta & 700!!

thanks for the great pics....yes, that is Karachi - I remember Paradise Cinema as a kid. It's not tthere anymore and has been replaced by an ugly modern structure. Gandhi Garden is still there and old folks still call it that.

Our thread has gone dead slow in the recent months......some regular contributors are missing. I hope your posts will bring them out of their hibernation. All the pics that you have posted are really very interesting.

@yaserag Nice Beemers. Are there any vintage or classic Beemers in your collector circle?

Here there are not many. Mavbe 8 Isettas, 2 328's probably Frazer Nash and both are mechanically handicapped, a 700. There were one or two Vintages in Hyderabad but these were already in the ground. There was a M1 in Mumbai but being so low and we having terrible roads the owner sent her back.

@neurosurgeon, attached is another picture of The Mall, Lahore. The car seems to be a Chevy. On the building on the right Allahabad Bank Ltd is mentioned. Is it still there? I am sure tha area must have changed a bit, or quite a bit

ah how I wish I was born back in the day, hope to see the mall restored to its former glory one day , the bank is still there in good shape yup the car is either a chevy but the grille looks more like a olds .

u 'll be lucky if u can find something for around a lakh....a Ford Galaxie Convt. 1966 was for sale for Rs.300,000/- some months ago......a ouple of 1950's Chevy's are available but price prob around 4 -5 lacs each. Will let u know if I come across a bargain. I had a 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood which I sold for 100,000/- 5 months ago....u missed it

Found this pic of one of my dream cars a 53 Hudson sedan on its way to Muree also check out the chevy truck coming down hill, good old times when Muree was still a respectable place I'm told that you weren't a gentleman if you didn't dress up in a suit just to stroll on the mall, and im pretty sure that was true judging form my Nanas and Dadas pics

thanks for these lovely pics........I believe this Jag Mk VIII is in Lahore. I remember seeing car in Lahore about 20 years ago but then it was in very good condition. Is it available? What is the car infront of it? looks like a British Roadster, MG or something, any idea?

@lancia not too many classic bimmers around. Ive seen a couple of Isettas (one of them in Peshawar, my home town a long time ago). Have seen plenty of '70s 3's, 5's and 7's and also a 6 of that era (a 635 CSi i think).

Ok more old bimmers... this time its two 1929-31 3/15PS, a 1930 3/15 PS roadster, a 1939 335, 1957 502, 1934 315/1, 1936 328 roadster, 1955 Isetta, 1968 2002 Ti, 1964 700LS Coupe (boxer engine), the original E30 M3, another 328 touring coupe and modern renditions of the M1 and 328 touring coupe...the Mille Miglia concept... thats quite a few pictures..hope the admins dont get mad.... anyway still to come... vintage bikes and some mouth watering engines...

would really appreciate if you could post MG's pics too...looks like a TD but I am trying to trace a 30's MG PB in Lahore which I saw 20 years ago in a workshop near GRO I think.
