thanks for sharing this thread which started and ended in 2006. I wonder if Vajih can see this message - I would like to ask him why did he doubt the club's intentions / integrity? We have never said no to any charity organisation and did two shows with British Women Association at the Avari Karachi to raise funds for the earthquake victims. Club is not dead, on the contrary its growing and getting better. We are all working professionals and can only spare limited time to club's activities, but from a handful members to over a 100 now speaks volumes. From 8-10 cars to 150 + is not bad for this part of the world. So much more can be done but then there are so many constraints....the site needs to be revived again I admit....but need a spare 100,000/- for that. Its being upgraded and updated.

During a conversation with aftab, our mechanic, he told me that between my dads ownership of our Buick Lala Aziz used it as well..

His name keeps popping up, can you tell us all something about him and where all his cars went?

to all. with reference to my earlier post no one spoke of the two Studebakers, any info?

Lala Aziz was a fantastic personality....a genuine car enthusiast, collector, restorer and had one of the best if not the biggest collection of classic cars....let me pen down his cars in his rememberence:

1968 Triumph TR 6
1956 Buick Roadmaster Convertible
1955 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible
1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
1952 Cadillac Fleetwood
1966 Cadillac Fleetwood

Lala died mysteriously at his sister's house where he had been living for sometime as his house was being constructed.

Just a couple of hours before he died, he had gone to his house which was now 99% complete and set new electrical appliances in their places...he was supposed to move in the next day. He had constructed a ground level 9 car garage and had also made a swimming pool on the roof top which gave a perfect view of the airport's runway....

I request all to recite surah fateha for Lala.....he was a great friend and I miss him. Rest in peace Lala.

Lala Aziz died a few years ago.....his father was a very well known personality of his time.....started of as a mechanic / workshop owner, was an expert on american auto transmissions in the 50's and 60's. his name was Lala Hamid better known as Lala Mucharr as he had a big moustache. He was known to be a very daring and strong man and once grappled with a circus lion which had gotten free and was about to attack a bunch of people.....Lala Hamid owned an Indian Chief before partition and was also known as a dare devil rider......he died young at the age of 47 years....his son Lala was also in his late 40's when he died.
