Mustang is in the paint shop. I know of two Merc 540K's, both in Nawab of bahawalpur's family. One with original 5000 miles on the clock was exported out in the early 70's to USA and recently sold for $675,000/-. It was one of the least desirable bodies available in 540K. The other one was gifted to Lala Hamid, a renowned mechanic of his time who sold to car to some landlord who had the car scraped on Lawrence Road as he could not get it fixed.

Alfa and Mustang look super....

Saw the 56 Bel Air today.....it should be saved...56 Bel Air is one of the easiest of American cars to restore and maintain....mechanical parts are still available at Perfect Motors.....so whoever is looking for a good clean and simple classic, here is the car for you.

the 56 is in the list already and mjabbasi this is the same one which is in your flicker album . mohsin bhai you and I had a talk about this car, well its was in better shape when it was parked at the previous place as the tail lights are gone and the hood had been molested . wouldnt want another 50s american go to its grave so some one have mercy and get it .

the first car registered KAB9760 is an Alvis hundred, it had a straight six and was a British racing green two seater convertible. Apparently Alvis only made 100 of these and two were imported to Pakistan one green as described and another similar car in red. Any information on the whereabouts of these cars, particularly the BRG one?

the second car in the garage is either a '68 or '69 Buick Skylark 4-door with a straight six. registered KCC2597. Does anyone know the whereabouts of this car?

Finally any information on Studebakers in Pakistan? One was registered KAM14 or KAM19 it was my nana's dad's car. My grandfather himself also had another Studebaker Hawk but he does not recall the year of the car.

PS the Alvis and Buick in the pictures were also my nana's cars. Hope anyone knows something or the other?

The car in the first picture is not an Alvis Hundred, it is an Alvis TB 21, with two door sports bodywork by Metalcraft of Coventry.
It had a four cylinder engine of 1.9 liters and you are right that a 100 of these cars were made.
The model is from 1950. There were 4 or 5 of these model of Alvis in Karachi, lahore and Quetta. Dont know where they are now.

The Buick would have been re-registered as the KCC series of registration numbers started in 1974 and KCC 1 was Mr Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's Jaguar XJ 6.

Late Lala Aziz showed me a pic of a similar Alvis on the Muree roads. He claimed that his father had one in the 60's. I remember an article on Alvis which stated that a member of Alvis Owners Club spotted one in Pakistan. It was a 'Thoroughbred and Classic Car' magazine from the late 80's. Nice pics - good to see them.

The Alvis model in the pictures and also posted by timmy 455 is a TB 14, not TB 21 as I had said in my earlier post.
