Wow, you never post for half measures! I see a Galaxie, a 3500GT, a Jalpa (which I initially mistook for a Pantera until I saw the hood emblem), Merak, E-type and the 993 Turbo. The layer of dust covering all of these cars is reminiscent of an '80s post-apocalyptic B-movie. Wonderful! The Galaxie looks like fun, something to play hooligan in. I can just imagine the rear tires screaming in protest and smoking as you put the hammer down.

Wonderful collection of pictures that you've shared with us. I know it must've been a wonderful experience having a good look and maybe a feel of all these cars. My personal favourite of all these is the Alpine. I've got a thing for small light racers. Having my automotive amateur colleagues (the above 45 crowd you see - the younger ones have no idea what we're talking about) rave on about the Alpine gives me all the more reason to like it even more.

Another car in the same vein was the Alfa Romeo Type 33 Stradale. A LOT rarer than the Alpine, but beautiful nonetheless. It looked a bit like an 8/10ths Ferrari 330 P4, another breathtaking vehicle.

Datsun Z Garage- ZCAR Performance Mods is the best site i know for the L engines...

i'm currently rebuilding my setup and thought it would be best to go with the stock carb.

Thanks for liking the snaps will post more.This alpine was in pristine condition and I talked to the owner,he said this car was the winner of Monte Carlo race in 1970s..I sat in this car and man feeling was unbelieveable.Like james Bond 007 Aston Martin of Goldfinger movie

Gentlemen,

After more than a year of struggling with logistics of having a day job and evening schedules, I have finally started a full-time workshop.

While doing routine jobs for 'survival', the workshop is available to all enthusiasts here for restoration projects, mechanical and denting works, and even high performance modding for the 'speed freaks' among us.

I was surprised at the variety, there were many more but the temperature was really climbing and can drain you in a flash.
The Galaxie was a beauty, in daily use and the owner was a very nice person.

I will definetly do that, I was entering AD from the Ruwais side so started the "exploration" in the cooler morning hours. I saw the 3500 GT in the Electra St area bout 2006, then it just vanished till I saw it on this trip. The owner is demanding some silly price. I want to get my hand on the Lambo Countach, suggest we both plan and track the owner down. Will call you in a bit.

Yes, the 560 is one of my favourite GT machines, twenty years and 180,000 km on the odometer and she can still bring a smile to your face on the lonely drive to Ruwais.

well the reason you see the mostly good cars in junk yard here is that the maintenance and labor is very costly and don't know what are the rule of other Gulf states. But in kuwait you have to clear your car annually the checker see that the car will be in order mechanically and physically. So mostly people don't bother to take old car and maintain it. If you visit Kuwait scrap yard in November or December there you found lots of latest model car which have to come in next year are there. The reason is that Arab people don't care much about the car specially the new drivers. Most of them have the problem of engine cease.

The Alfa in on its feet... only the driveshaft has to be made. Getting one form Canada though as well courtesy storm. The Saab pitted piston has been replaced with a new one. The block has been apinted the original colour.... Ikram going wild.

The Datsun finally sees light of day. wheeled out into teh sunlight after the base coat... needs to be checked further and flaws removed. Samiivoodoo I remember your comments about teh high riding car... this shall be corrected.

The colour is going to be a light gunmetal... not blue... i decided against that after I got the evo... dont want another dark coloured car... too much care needs to be taken.
