Howdie again.. Well, the 1939 Chevrolet Imperial Limousine is up and running !! In short, I believe it came from India and then went to Pakistan..
(See new photos) Some of you might remember the car touring around back in the day..

Man you're so lucky to have this....i guess this car was moved to Pakistan after the partition with Bapu (Jahangir Mian's Father - The Current Nawab). Will dig out and check out with Mian Sahab on this and will update you.

maybe I should post up a separate restoration thread... but that would take half the fun away.

the headliner has been fitted the seats are ready and the wiring has been done. The wheels originally on my younger brothers sprinter trueno AE92 are being straightened... says a lot for his driving skills...or the lahore roads. the tyres are there 225/50 16s. The rear lights have been prepped and polished. The main problem was a new radiator...is being made.. and will be fitted tomorrow.
The paint has been smoothed over by wet fine emory paper prior to polishing

the interior was painted today and the fitting... electrics ... and the exterior fitting is starting tomorrow. I have been given an estimate of 10 days.

the paint polish etc is going to happen after but meanwhile some more pics

Sir, iam visiting this thread after a really really long time. i dunno if you remember me but i had contacted you once really really long ago for assistance for this 240z with targatop once. But i remember you posting pictures really long ago of your Z and i jus saw the recent pictures!
hats off to you sir, Mashallah you've really brought out the beauty in this Z...cant wait to see the car once all the final fixtures etc are done..i must say you have waited patiently for this project

i have a '75 trueno te47 with the 280zx drivetrain...the 3.9 diff transplant was completed yesterday...

I had the pleasure of riding this car and having a cup of tea on the sofa.
Me on the right.

It was in mid 80s, the Chevy was exchanged for a Sofa, someone form Consulate(forgot which one) exported it to Dubai and from there to US.

Chevy started her Journey from US to Saudi Arabia, from there it went to India, then to Pakistan, Dubai and back to US.
She is back home after almost 70 years.

Its sad that the Sofa got her place in Junagadh house:(

Thanks for sharing Libra... sure this thing got interesting history.

As for the hunting part, that also came along the vehicle from India to Pak..:).. it was used for hunting in Badin and a lot more areas

Is somebody interested in restoring a 1974's Caprice Classic?

As for the details, here it goes:

Green in color (gone for good, no spray job will do it).
Front screen is also....no more.
The interior is intact and so is the engine.
Turn Signal lenses missing and the grill missed the badge on it.
Decklid's Script is also missing but heard a lot of parts can be available from an old resource.

Just watched the 1974's 'gone in 60 seconds' and the chase in the end made it worth watching... Eleanor at it's best...Folks if you haven't seen it then do go for it.

what sucks about the remake is that people actually think that "elanor" is what a real GT500 looks like,... they'll never understand.

anyone seen the 65-66 GT350R? now THAT is a pony car!!
