just traced a few minis which can be stripped...........

@neurosurgeon...havent tried calling Kashif for sometime. Will call him and findout. Though a bit cash strapped as the moment.....but a Mini is on my wish list too. Sold one for 25,000 3 years ago and want to kick myself. Didnt need money, but had no parking space.

This makes sense (H). I have drawn up a list of folks from here who have expressed interest in particular cars. I am copying their names and wish lists on a small piece of paper which I shall keep in my wallet so I know at a glance whom to message in case I see a potential rescue.

yes the price is ok....one is lucky to pick up bagains these days. Though I must admit that one may come across a much cheaper Mini but to find one so original and clean I guess one will have to pay the premium price. I sold mine, a complete original 60' car not running for 25,000/- and want to kick myself.

Considering that Adil sold his Mini 3 years ago for 165,000/-, Omar sold his for 150,000/- again about 3 years ago, there's one lying in Karachi, asking price was 300,000/- 2 years back. Its red with white top etc. 350 K is ok.

Though Mr. Bean's association with Mini is quite popular and does not demean it in anyway. Even Ausin Powers has had this in his movie...it was a hit with celebrities with list of owners such as John Lennon, Peter Sellers, Steve McQueen etc. The car has been voted as 'Car of the Century' by various publications such as 'Classic & Sports Car', 'Autocar' etc.

Car conniosseurs would rather relate a Mini to Paddy Hopkirk and Monte Carlo Rally wins.

i think you forgot THE ITALIAN JOB and also the mini cooper is its remake and is way cool

but there is someone who i know got it really cheap these days ..... but without engine and some shaky condition..... but im sure he is gonna get it done good

then mr razzak syed told me of an awsome restored mini sold for 2 lacks that was of some dewan farooq group

i came to know of a good one in multan and he was asking 500k for it.....

so i think one should always prefer a mini as a project , but i think these kabars are now extinct and more mercedes kabar available

Ah, the tin snail 2CV!

 Some time back I cried myself hoarse asking people to rescue a very nice snail from death at the hands of the Kabaria Mafia...... No one responded in time :'(

 The Kabaria wanted 35k for the car which just needed a battery, petrol and adjustments to run. Clean and complete papers were part of the deal. It even had the *much sought after* metallic paint job :P. Only down side was that the original soft top had been replaced with a metal sheet pop riveted in place, something very easy to reverse with just a drill machine, a good steady hand and some TLC.

  Exactly one week after the car was 'killed' I got an overseas call from one of the most respectable posters on these forums who had ready cash in hand and willing to buy on spot. Sadly, it was too late......
