It was good turnout in Islamabad, though place was little congested due to new cars not leaving the parking space for vintage stuff :(, above Vespa with side cart & Moqeem's twin color beetle were the star of show from Islamabad.

It was good to See Javed Ibrahim Sb's chevy and hand made MG :), 4 Morris Minors & 4 Minis, VWCOP's nicely tuned beetles, a very old Ford (I am sorry not sure about that Model), late entry of Fiat was cool addition. Team IJC also chipped inn

The rally cars were of course superb, driving them all they way to Islamabad from Karachi is a huge achievement, hats of to VCCCP. Would love to read a detailed write-up on the journey you guys had....

the 57 chev here is not javed ibrahims; his is a 6-cylinder
this is some khanzada's car, with the 283 ci v-8. the same one that used to be in westridge-1, rawalpindi. was sold a few years ago to this owner who put on these hideous rims on it..

the fiat is a 78 124 spider owned by Najaf Ali Shah in Islamabad.

Was great meeting up with the "usual suspects", no doubt (for me) PW members made the event more fun. I met alot of great guys and saw some seriously nice cars too.

no doubt the Vespa was a real gem,.. really wanted to meet the owner and congratulate him on an AMAZING job. As for Moqeems beetle, no doubt one of the best VWs in PK (bravo Moqeem & shakeel).

this was decided at the last minute. i got lucky to recieve an SMS from aamir567 (IJC) so i went along. as far as i know PW wasn't informed and as i was offline after 3pm i was unable to post it up. sorry you missed out but inshAllah, next time you'll get to see them all.

do note that many of the cars there were ISB cars so maybe we can have a GTG for these cars again soon.

badly organized .....location was not good at all......even the location was not final untill today...dont know what was in their mind

I formally protest seriously if they wanted to change the locations they should have wrote it here first Mohsin sb this is out of disappointment seriously there were so many people waiting for this event for months and even i had psyched a few up and when i took them to dumb Flashman it was very humiliating to see empty lawns and no way of knowing where to reach seriously i felt very bad about the whole issue

it actually started as a "chai" offered by salman (owner of bakewell) to the VCCCP guys. then at the last minute it was decided to make it a public affair. Initially it was a private affair.

We should be happy that at least we got to see some of the cars in ISB & RWP as well as some of the KHI cars. yes, the venue could have been better but they made the best with what they had. Initially I think they wanted to secure the entire rear parking but it's likely that the other shops didn't want to giveup their parking.

InshAllah there will be another venue soon and we should consider this a "teaser" from which everyone can learn from.

i still can't get that vespa out of my mind!!

About to reach the first overnight stop if they haven't already. The Austin Healey had some heating issues alongwith the Daimler but nothing serious enough that couldn't be fixed.

sorry this info is incorrect.....Healey and Daimler had no heating issues at all. I left Karachi with a broken manifold stud on the Healey and the leaking exhaust was vaporising the fuel and the car would start missing when I would drive slow or at idle....I stopped to check and also opened the radiator cap to check water level....it was full and not steaming or anything. The water had accumulated a lot of rust from teh block and had become muddy.....so on the first petrol pump I found, I stopped and flushed the water to avoid choking of radiator.....healey purred like a cat throughout except a broken fan belt on the motorway which was changed in 10 minutes. We also found a leak in the radiator which we fixed too there and then.

Ok.. most of us have been told about Flashman. i would have been appropriate if a banner regarding change of venue have been posted at Flashman hotel.

Anyway I really appreciate the effort.. taking all these gems from Karachi to Islamabad is really a commendable job! i was just regretting the organization of the event. i hope next time there will be a much organized event.

i was also expecting that the rally would come to Peshawar.. Once Mohsin Sahab gave a hint about it too but i don't know why, later this idea was dropped.

Islamabad venue was quite disappointing and not well organized. It was like a free for all. Lahore was much more fun. I deeply regret not bringing my car(s) and cannot wait for the next event. Both Lahore and Islamabad are THE places where you can really enjoy driving these cars and I hope the duration will be longer next time. I was surprised to see so few Pakwheelers who post so regularly here but were nowhere to be seen. The cars are now being trucked back to Karachi and it was a pure stroke of luck that our return flight to Karachi was delayed for 2 hours allowing everyone to get to the airport just in time.
