this jag was well known to many of us in rawalpindi, i had forgotten it for a while but then got it back once i asked my friend ali about it.

the owner is insane and to say some sentimental value maybe his option to get rid of us to buzz him maybe

its a good thing but sadly has to be left alone as its SENTI and MENTAL too

maybe neurosurgeon has a solution to this disease

@Mohsin Bhai, Qasim Shah and Junee22, this MK V belongs to my uncle (my father's best friend) he is not willing to dispose it off at any cost due to some sentimental attachments. I have talked with him several times but in vain.

i can understand ur uncle's sentiments..however, he must understand that if he respects those sentiments he wudnt let this car get consumed by the elements..he shud either bring it bak 2 glory, or giv it 2 sum1 who will and will then be a source of joy to him too.
this way he is just desrespecting the memories of the car....
the sanctity of its own history as well as that of the importance it had in his life....
he can understand that the memories are very important....he shud understand that the source of those memories shud be given refuge..
this is just sacreligious

tell him that the car will go to somebody who has owned a Mk V for many years and knows the car iside out. Tell that his car will be restored and maintained for centuries God willing.....but it will rot to dust if left like this.

It took me 3 years of pursuasion to buy the Mk V I had....and 13 years to buy the split window Beetle that I am restoring these days. Preseverence is the key. keep trying buddy and you never know when and who gets lucky.

just thought I 'd share whats been happening on the car front at my end....

Beetle's work is in full swing.....have started some movement on the Chevrolet pick up....had the differential temporarily installed to make it rolling...I plan to display it at the show next Sunday 'as it is'

Fiat just dented and painted.....hoping that denter turns up today to fit the trim etc.

Lincoln's trip removed and chrome replated. It will go back on the car today. After the show, the Lincoln will go in for a slow restoration...black paint, burgundy leather upholstery and double duck mohair convt top.

Bikes getting cosmetic attention for the show.

Citroen going to get some attention from Monday onwards...will be driven to the show inshallah. Needs engine tuning, brakes servicing and engine mounting alignment.

Lahore just had a fantastic gtg ... Isb should do it too and soon. I saw some fantastic cars there last Nov.
