Well! someone in Lahore was actually trying to defraud another enthusiast by asking for 250,000 in advance and balance after he shows the car......this enthusiast sent the pics to me and I showed them to 'Alvis' who immediately told me what it was. Infact same pics were used to try and defraud people online showing the car as one available in Indonesis.

A guy was telling me about a Mercedes Coupe 1950's in new lalazar Rawalpindi.
The way he described the cars, it seems to be a gulwing, the same thing

there is a 1957 Mercedes Benz 220S Coupe in very bad condition in Pindi lying in some workshop....it could be that

you are fairly new on this thread but I must tell you that your posts are not entirely a service to the vintage and classic car scene in Pakistan except to those who want to play 'bee jamalo'. In recent years two very important cars were exported out of Pakistan, a 1926 Bentley 3 Litre and a 1922 Amilcar. Before that, an E Type Roadster and an early Jaguar XK 120 Roadster....also a Rolls Royce Phantom V 1965....a 1937 Mercedes 540 K. The list is endless of classic cars and bikes exported out of Pakistan. Had you posted pics and helped in stopping export of those cars it would have been greatly appreciated. You have every right to snoop around and post pictures but as far as I am concerned, it is not appreciated.

Hi all

decided to break my silence as I haven't posted any thing for a long time due to the studies and other stuff. since vintage photos seem to be hot on the thread these days its time I post some which I found while in hybernation from the thread. most of these are from Karachi during the 60s and a ton more to come soon as well as some video clips.

Is there ANY way that pic of Metropole can be enlarged or enhanced?? That Merc in the photo looks identical to the one my father had back in the 60's (LHD) with the cloth pullback sunroof. I'd like to get a closer pic of who is driving that car because it could very well be the same car with either my father or mother at the wheel.

Enlarging is not an issue, but doing so will cause a loss of detail making it difficult to recognize the people driving.

How big is the actual photo? Do you think a magnifying glass might help? The car is also LHD which is the version my dad had. I also notice the opposite direction of traffic flow. How I wish I could see the Karachi of back then. Please keep posting more pics.
