Its a 1973 BMW 3.0 CSL (E9)

Well that certainly is not a CSL, whch was a homologation special made in limited numbers.

This is a 3.0 CS or a 3.0 CSi. All I know is the car was owned by Muzaffar Hussain who was a federal Secretary in the early 80's. He probably imported it and it was for sale in 1982 for Rs 450,000. That was a massive amount of money back then but it was in a mint condition. It was in a beautiful house in Clifton with pedigreed German Shepards guarding it.

The last time I saw this car was around 1993 or so at Khan Motors, then if Mohsin is correct it was purchased by Lala Aziz and it just vanished.

It seems to be in good condition and is a very pretty car even now.

And is that Buick in the background Timmy 455's?, that Buick and this BMW are the only two cars I would drive off with if I was the director for Gone in 60 secs.!!

Alvis is probably right as I have limited knowledge on BMW's.....this car has always been referred to as 3.0 CSL by none other than Lala Aziz and if I remember correctly the car supports that badge as well. Will ask the owners. The beautiful house in Clifton where that car used to be parked was that of Imran Hussain who owned this BMW as well. Lala never bought this car but was maintaining it for one Navaid Malik who perhaps sold it to Mr. Tariq of KTL Industries....he has two sons Ahad and Fahad who are now taking care of this beauty alongside their Pontiac Firebird. Alvis, the 1963 or was it 65 Buick Riveira is also owned by them.I remember showing you the photographs

I think, it seems to be Alpha Romeo.....Mohsin Bhai can tell better...But the grill is for sure.

spot the most valuable car here. its certainly not the BMW...

the ford capri is the 1700V4 which was in for repairs after a minor prang... apologies to the owner... pics put up without permission.

the front of the 1750 has been corrected... thats more like it....you can spot the new panels and i have even obtained the aluminium front and rearwheel arch liners

the 2600 spider rear lights were sent for buffing... Sods law the chrome was burnt off and these cannot be rechromed. so new light bases were made with laser CNC cutting machines and rechromed. the bumpers were also redone and have been rechromed. this is the main delay. it has to be perfect... like the 1750....no more amateurish restos...

Someone told me about S800 in Karachi and it is badly modified no use of it to buy.

In 1974-5, as young students, we used to see this BMW in GOR Lahore and it was reportedly owned by one of the members of the Monoo family, who contributed much to the then fine car scene of Lahore. At that time also it carried the 3.0 CSL badge but I tend to agree with Alvis Sb.
Further, there is no doubt that the Alfa Romeo in question here, is reportedly bodied by "Carrozeria Touring" IMHO the top most body maker with superlative designs. I have seen many less than good designs from Pinninfarina, Vignale, Ghia, even Zagato, etc., but not one from Touring. I think in the flesh this car too is an excellent balanced design which was a hallmark of this company.
