They have made it to Sukkur and are setting off for Bahawalpur now. Mohsin had some issues with his Healey which I'm guessing has been fixed now but it seems his VW Microbus took it upon itself to lead the rally this morning and started and began moving by itself and Mohsin injured his foot when it got ran over.

After a refuelling stop in Hyderabad, Healey developed a strange problem where it would start missing every few kms and then would start running normally.....while I was trying to diagnose the problem along with my support crew, other cars passing by stopped to enquire and it took an effort to make them proceed while I fix my problem as them standing on my head was no help. We drove the Healey to the next petrol pump and disconnected the fuel connection from the tank and ran the car without problems till Gumbut on a makeshift petrol tank on passenger seat aka 10 litre can with direct connection to tank. This meant that there was something clogging the original fuel line......we had to clean the tank next morning and found a piece of solution tape inside which was clogging the line. It was fixed and the car ran fine all along. Just before reaching Islamabad, the engine died suddenly....the cultprit was a 'short' rotor. Had one flown from Karachi within 12 hrs and things were good again

i thought this would be an interesting and long story of the healey breakdowns............ but i guess u cut to the chase to the big issues while the minor issues were solved immediately

after a minor hiccup with a failed rotor on Lhe - Isb motorway, Healey was a pleasure to drive.....it was more like riding a 4 wheel bike

Finally after getting free from a busy weekend time at last to post here. Amazing rally with truly amazing people! I had a lot of fun even though i only joined from Lahore. The shows were brilliant and had quite a nice turnout too! I must say VCCCP is brilliant people specially you Mohsin Bhai! This years rally was truly miles ahead from last year and hopefully we can do even better next year! Loved the ride in the Healey and of course, the time spent together at the motorway videoing and photographing the rally and even the break downs and towing the healey to safety had its own charm. I must say Nasir Bhais Billo performed wonderfully throughout and when all otehr support vehicles left it was Billo that rose to the challenge and towed the healey a good distance on the motorway to the rest area. Thumbs up to VWCOP for this rescue! (Y) I must thank Mohsin Bhai for letting us tinker around with the vintage engine and experiment with the rotor. Even though it failed, the experience of working on an engine from this era was itself a treat!

Cant wait for next years rally to come along and InshaAllhah Grey matter will be a participant from Karachi on the next run with tonnes of pictures of every one and hopefully every moment!

Im glad you liked it! and as for the support, it was nothing. thats what VWs and members of VWCOP do best! sweep up the rally towing and rescuing all stranded vehicles which is evident from the micro being a service vehicle!

and do I hear you consider LAHORE!?! sounds good!! all the more reason to join in!!

next yr rally could be: day 1:Lahore, tour of shalimar gardens, the fort, the mosque.
day 2: Sheikhupura Hiran Minar, then to Gujrat, to see the tomb of Shah Daula (of chooha fame) then on to Jhelum and the rohtas fort, and finally turn left on the GT road, towards Khewra salt mines, overnight at khewra.
Day 3: Tour the salt mines, breakfast at the PTDC kallar kahar lakeside. then drive the motorway to peshawar, ovenight in peshawar,
Day 4: see the museum, and Gor Ghatri (se the vintage fie engines), afternoon drive to abbotabad, ovenight abbot.
day 5: morning tour abbotabad sites, then climb to nathiagali, lunch there, and ovenight at bhurban.
day 6: motor down to islamabad, tour the muree brewery... and so on.
this is just one possible itinerary, there are many similar possibilities. All we have to do is get into our cars and drive
