Some pictures of the Mini... finally the denter has started working on it after threats and bluster and not a little pleading. The final work is bein done. ... the most problem is with the door handles as the previous owner had put in Suzuki door handles after taking off the originals .... God what a philistine???New ones were obtained form the UK including the jamb fittings and window winders etc etc

The next pic is of the Merc 220Se and the Datsun 260Z.... the merc in for head gasket replacement and the Datsun for all the correct mechanical work.

The steering rack had been repalced and the column. Genuine originals are being fitted... the generator casing, the head cover are being chromed. All the bits and pieces are coming off. The suspension is also being done with the correct shocks ( also being painted/ enamelled ) and bushes and ball joint ends etc. Should get better pics to document but I generally cant carry the digital SLR around.And get to the workshop at odd times.

I have decided first the mechanicals and then the exterior and then the interior.

Suddenly the Fintail is in fashion. Classic and Sportscar is bring out a feature next month on the Fintail with Martin Buckley

Mini Austin may be a small car but a giant in terms of what it has to offer + it's cult following worldwide. I am a bit sad about the engine swap plans that you have, unless the swap is with an Austin upgraded or a 1275 cc unit. If you put a jap unit i 'll consider the car ruined. Sorry to put it so bluntly...

Sir in this sundays advertiser there were two American Classics for sale atleast one was a classic i believe.....
There was a 1980 cadillac and a 1960 impala ii i remember correctly that is ...... the ad said VCCCP.com for viewing but the site was closed for construction....
Just asking out of curiousity .... are these cars imad's?
Oh and are the triumph herald and 2000gt sold yet?

Mohsin bhai i well can understand the worth ov the car when it comes to originality...but considering da amount ov dough i had wid me i had to stick wid jap crap...those A series motors are pretty heavy on the pocket if u have to import one..plus they are a rare find in pakiland.i knw a person selling his clubman wid 1275cc engine n hez asking 4lakhs fer it..its a 1275cc dual carb wid port n polished head ....ive another mini dats all genuine....i will post da pics as soon as i get bak home as im in ma uni right now.....
its all good untill its blunt but straight.....

There were quite a few classics on sale on Sunday. Imad advertised his Cadillac and a 1965 Chevrolet Impala Convertible V8 auto. I am not sure if he has sold his other cars yet. There was another ad for a magnificent 1929 Packard Pheaton straight-8. Asking price is 3 million as per the ad (havent seen the ad myself)but if someone's interested in a serious collectors car I can get a hefty discount such as slice the demand in half. This is the same car used in movie 'Jinnah'.

I agree with you that it's not really worthwhile importing an A series engine. Whats wrong with your original engine? All parts are available locally and this 850 cc unit is very cheap and simple to overhaul. It has a lot of character and a distinctive sound. It shouldn't cost you a penny more than 15,000 bucks to repair.

But sadly I am a student and don't have any money of my own to buy it.... otherwise i would have.....My father sadly does not share my enthusiasm for classic cars otherwise i would have convinced him to buy it!
I can convince him to buy the impala though..... only he'll throw me out of the house when he see's what kind of mileage it gives.....!

There's a 300SE fintail with the Chinoy family in Karachi. I do believe it's the most desirable of the fintails. I have never seen a convertible fintail.....I am sure they must have made them, once saw a 2 door in a song video on MTV.

Your mini should end up super.

Sir i am really interested in the 65 impala it must be in excellent condition its one of my fav cars. which other cars is imad selling?
rite now just busy with one project and not at all ready to buy another car as i'll have to leave my place then. if had some money to spend had bought the car anyway but inshallah in a while would try to buy one.

Good to see you post some really nice pics. These cars belong to active VCCCP members Ali and Mohammad Khan and regularly participate in our car shows. The powder blue Kaiser Fraser is interesting.
