I have seen a Lotus Cortina being raced but never sat in one. The car was a huge success on the track, thanks to its twin cam engine. I have never liked it's looks.

You mean to say that you'd pass this? I'd kill to get into one, or own one.

Continuing with the DS theme, the DS was followed by the CX, then the XM (of which you still find a lot on French roads today) and the last in line is the C6. I'd personally love to have a C6 with the 2.7 Twin Turbo diesel (but only second hand when the previous owner has taken a huge depreciation hit :p).

The Citroën SM was introduced in parallel with the CX. I've seen a couple very rarely, but they do stand out, owing to their sleek and slinky profile.

i know this Lotus Cortina has a huge following and is extremely desirable, but I am not hot on it's styling. I like the Citroen SM and the C6. it's always a good idea to go for a used (new) car and the let the first buyer get hit with dep.

I just a good long chat with Tauqir who's has told me that his Citroen is being restored and should be ready in a couple of months time. He has graciously offered to send the car to me in Karachi for use. He is not aware of any Citroen with Dir's. He says he has seen 3-4 DS's in Islamabad/Pindi but most of them have been scrapped some years ago. Try and trace out thses cars....maybe we get lucky and find a bargain.

Dear All,

I wish I had a digital camera back then but the fact is that the Citroen I saw parked in Super Market's parking lot was a DS and NOT a 2CV. Nawab Dir's son Tariq is known to me and I will check with him if he has got any pics of the car. Since Tauqir Awan mentions seeing 3-4 DS's in isloo, maybe the one I saw back in early 80's might just be one of them.

Can anyone gets pics of the Auto Union of the owners of Toyota Islamabad? I last saw it ten years ago parked in their I9 workshop in Islamabad. Thats an interesting one, two stroke engine, front wheel drive....
