Regarding kashmir road are ok till keran ,if u want to take ur car beyond this point then sharda is limit dont go beyond this point with ur car as roads are not good for car beyond sharda ,though i missed few areas in my last visit but frankly speaking i didnt find kashmir that beautiful as normally we read in books or on social media post but arang kel is no doubt among one of the best place of pakistan,i really really loved arang kel,regarding traveling with family,not a single area of pakistan could be as much safe as kashmir i also went there first time with family including kids ,i was driving car in that area around 10pm and was not afraid as area was fully guarded with army and very strict checking on every post
