Last week when I was in Pakistan I visited the following Jeep Bazaars in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
1) GT Road Choonge #26 Islamabad
2) City Saddar Road
3) Astabal#2 Gawal Mandi/Raja Bazar
4) G-8 Markaz
As I am going to have another Jeep Project and this time I M looking for BJ-40 or CJ-7 Project. I wanted to see the current availability of BJs & CJ7s so that I can decide for one.
During the visit I found some interesting options but due to limited time I was not able to finalize. But later on my Mechanic told me about couple of CJ-7s, one (1982 Model) in it’s original condition though in really rough shape as newly auction but after good denting work it can be re-stored in it’s original shape. Will will only be looking for Engine & Gear Box change. Every thing else will be it’s own. This one most probably is going to be my next Jeep Project_
I saw one excellent Off-Roader “BJ-40” 1984 model recently auctioned by Pak Air Force but the demand was too much for a new auctioned and UN-Registered BJ. BTW the demand was 590000/-. The guy was only negotiating 20K. For me it was not a price that I should go this BJ Project then I checked some @ Choongee # 26, Tarnool Islamabad. There were 3 BJ-40s rusted ones, and those were available with Auctioned Voucher for 320000/- per vehicle. Quite a few CJ-5s & One CJ-6 was also available for 130000/-. Apart from these some Double Cabins, 86 Model LCs, and couple of Bedford Trucks were also for sale. I didn’t have place to park the Truck but I liked it the most a giant for Off-Road and Caravans for camping.
Here are the pics of the Jeep Bazaar visit.
